[Doji Yuma]

Yuma had no control over the events despite knowing (very roughly) that would happen next and the stress was getting to him.

[Hitomi]

Behind the bride to be a fire rose slowly with long greasy wet black hair covering much of her face. She was just taller than Yushoku, while she was seated. There was the sound of cracking bone as the thing rested a hand on the woman’s shoulder damp with water and grime.

The smell of the sea was in the room.

Strangely enough it does not seem like Kintaro, Fuboshi, or Yoji notice the girl.

[Doji Soon-ja]

The elderly Doji blinked a moment as the apparition appeared. Blinking didn't make it go away, so Soon-ja fell back on her courtier's training.

"Won't you have a seat?" Soon-ja asked the fiery shadow in a calm voice. "We can set another place for you. Have a seasoned cockle; they're very good. I, ahh, don't think we've been introduced?"

[Hida Fuboshi]

Fuboshi looked at where the old woman was talking and then back to the others, “The old biddy is going eh? We had a Kuni like that, used to talk to his wife like she was still with us. Sometimes just be found wandering around not even sure what day it was. Poor bastard would shout about us being asleep… it speaks well of you that you allow her to travel with you in such an addled state.”

“She shits on the floor that’s on you.”

[Kakita Konohamaru]

So with a face that thousands see in their nightmares, the magistrate conjures within his visage that same evil, that same look of uncompromising disdain that many saw before he closed the door and let the torturers get to work, as the last bit of hope's light dies so that only candlelight remains for the victims.

And looked directly into the eyes of the ghostly guest over the brides' shoulder.

"It appears we have a guest."

A moment of silence.

"Boo."

Yuma was completely taken aback by the apparition, then by Soon-ja calmly trying to befriend it, then by Fuboshi being perfectly unaware of it.

Calm down. You're used to people being unable to perceive an obvious weirdness due to greater powers being at work.

And you never manage to find a way around that in close to twenty years.

Then he almost had a heart attack when Konohamaru suddenly decided to add a jump scare to the mix.

[Daidoji Yushoko]

Yushoko started speaking politely, “Well maybe if you were not such a cantankerous bitch maybe your daughter would give you children. Of course, maybe it’s because your daughter is as barren as a desert. Sounds like you need to get your shit together Fuboshi, your house is falling apart.”

As she speaks a large flying insect leaves her mouth and flies toward Fuboshi. Again the others seem unaware of the flying critter but the words are definitely heard.

The girl recoiled and then vanished.

Yuma suddenly stood, seemingly outraged, opening his arms widely and quickly to emphasis his wrath... And hoping to swat a particular bug in doing so.

Unfortunately for Yushoko, he had not turned off his magistrate face. As such, his face promised dire consequences if she did not comply with such a request.

[Doji Soon-ja]

"A proper lady does not 'shit on the floor,' " Soon-ja said primly. It did occur to the elderly courtier that such an act would be a fine distraction from Yushoko's outburst, but she didn't want to set a bad example for the impressionable Kio.

Soon-ja glanced at Kio to make sure she was continuing to behave properly, despite the...irregularities.

[Daidoji Yushoko]

Yushoko was going to continue and then looked at the Magistrate and said, “I have nothing else to say, Kakita-sama. What can be said for a man that rides a lie so long he thinks it has become the truth, when really he is a shattered husk of a human being. I would pity you, but you pity yourself enough for all of us.”

“Do us all a favor and end your misery so we can be spared living in the shadow of your self loathing.”

She smiled and said to the older woman, “Doji-sama is correct, these are delicious. I used a new recipe, I will be sure to get that to you.”

"Do I detect a hint of kelp powder in the furikake seasoning?" Soon-ja inquired politely, just as if no one had been shouting imprecations at each other. "Truly, it's marvelous. Eat, eat, don't let it go to waste."

With deft movements of her chopsticks, Soon-ja piled food onto Kio's plate.

Kio looks agitated as she looks at her auntie.

[Kakita Konohamaru]

Yushoko was going to continue and then looked at the Magistrate and said, “I have nothing else to say, Kakita-sama. What can be said for a man that rides a lie so long he thinks it has become the truth, when really he is a shattered husk of a human being. Still, it seemed as if her faux pas was redirected, so he decided to let it slide, dismissing her outburst like one would dismiss a child stroppily doing their homework.

He then turned to more important matters.

Kio looks agitated as she looks at her auntie.

"It's all right, Kio-chan," the old woman said reassuringly. "We can talk about it when our guests are gone. In the meantime, we must always mind our manners, hmmm?"

You got some bite to you and give as good as you get. And here I thought you priss-ass Crane would fold like little bitches.”

She ate more and said, “Now that was funny.”

[Kakita Konohamaru]

Fuboshi is crying and laughing at the same time. Once she things start to calm down she said, “If this is what I have to look forward to for family dinners then bring it on. You got some bite to you and give as good as you get. And here I thought you priss-ass Crane would fold like little bitches.”

She ate more and said, “Now that was funny.”

He bowed to the Hida, as if an actor at the end of a Kabuki play.

"I'm glad we could entertain, Hida-sama. It is nice to see you in high spirits."

Yuma quietly sat down, not exactly sure about what had happened or even what was still happening right now.

"A thought occurs."

He almost expected Yushoko to say 'Oh, so rare you must announce it?' or some-such and prepared his counter insult if required.

"We have brought several artisans, each with unique skills. Hida-sama," He bowed deeply to Fuboshi, "if we organised everything, could we put on a small festival this afternoon? As a show of friendship people could enjoy."

[Hida Fuboshi]

"I am surprised it took you this long before you Crane, Craned things up, you have my approval," she responded between bites.
