Rude Awakening (Day 2 MM The Sea Fox)

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"They finally let you go then Yoko-san." The Captain said with a smile, offering the young woman a dip of his head in greeting.

"Good to see they didn't feel the need to drag you back to the castle or something at least."

[Yoko]

"Counting all my lucky stars, eh?" she said with a laugh, finding herself toward the side of the boat near everyone. Sliding up onto it she leaned into her seat there. "Still.. more surprised they're looking to ask all of you too, if anything. Seems like it'd be something pretty damn important, eh?"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"To be so direct about it? Probably." Shouji agreed glancing towards where the Kuni continued their work. "Can't say I'm too happy about it honestly, but then hospitality has never been one of the Crabs skills."

Well at least as far as he could tell.

[Moshi Minari]

She grunted with displeasure at Yoko's treatment. It was going to be tempting to literally rain on the parade of the Crabs after today.

"Honestly, captain, shit like this is going way beyond usual Crab hospitality. If they're pulling off stunts like this with the Crane as well, that wedding is gonna leak like a ship that did a full frontal on a reef. But, if it's your order that I accomodate the lint-brains, then I'll do it."

With that, Minari pushed herself from the railing and put aside her scroll satchel on deck. No way was she going to let any nosey Kuni have a chance of pilfering her clan's scrolls, and since they were already acting like dumb brutes she wasn't going to give them any benefit of doubt of their goodwill.

Should just toss the wedding presents over to the couple now and set sail tomorrow morning. Bloody bastards.

[Moshi Meiko]

"It certainly is a bit...a bit..."
Meiko runs through her list of positive synonyms
"Overtly security conscious to the detriment of the hospitality provided. But it's also a really important wedding, if the Kuni are mean to us we all complain for a bit, but if a monster attacks and ruins the events then the Crab will be in even more trouble. Sometimes a scary man stabbing you in the thigh with a stone and asking where you've been is the lesser evil."

Meiko waves down at the Kuni who tested her who looks back with complete bafflement.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"It's somewhat about the attitude behind it, there is a proper way to go about things, and our clans are on good terms. Insulting a friend to make friends with someone else, well that's poor behavior."

He paused for a moment before adding. "Though if they find some monster among the guests it would make things better. If not and one still appears. Well... Things will just be three times as bad."

[Yoko]

"I don't got much to add onto the rest of it, but- if they have good reason and are trying to protect folk seems a good cause, eh? Even if they are a little rough about it," she added, shrugged. "If you don't mind my adding in my opinion, eh?" she added with a smirk.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Yes, if you're ignoring the fact that by doing this they are accusing us all of carrying the taint and hiding it." The Captain replied with a slim smile. "Their reasons for doing so could be considered positive even if their explanations are lacking."

He smiled at the ronin and smiled. "It comes off like their only interest is protecting themselves. Not their guests."

[Yoko]

"Ah- well," she raised both her hands up. "This is why you don't look to ronin for political advice, eh?" she says with a half-laugh.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"A new perspective is welcome, Yoko-san." Shouji replied with an easy smile. His eyes drifted to the dock where the last of his crew were receiving their tests.

"It was a good one, but this is not how you treat friends of your clan. You send a representative that explains the situation and then the Captain of the vessel graciously agrees." He looked towards the Ronin. "The tests are conducted, but outside the eye of the public and everything is swept under the table."

He motioned towards the dock with his chin. "This is an insult, and a public one." He frowned. "It's also a challenge of sorts to my authority. The Crab have taken steps to loose a friend here."

[Moshi Minari]

Unceremoniously, Minari rejoined the others on the boat, resisting the urge to flip off the Crab on her way up the plank. "Bloody wankers, the lot of them."

She had been looking forward to an extended stay in Crab lands, some shore-leave, some drinking... overall a relaxing experience, but it seemed the Crab were intent on ruining that.

Hopefully tomorrow would be better (writer's note: it would not).

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"We were just discussing the likelihood of then Shagging their mothers..." Shouji offered as Minari made it back up on deck. "Or maybe that was just me thinking it."

He Smirked and shook his head. "At least that's out of the way though, and we can put it behind us. Maybe Meiko can explain the fashion statement she wishes to make in orange and green."

[Moshi Meiko]

"We were just discussing the likelihood of then Shagging their mothers..." Shouji offered as Minari made it back up on deck. "Or maybe that was just me thinking it."

He Smirked and shook his head. "At least that's out of the way though, and we can put it behind us. Maybe Meiko can explain the fashion statement she wishes to make in orange and green."

"Shagging?"
Well, getting their mother's a nice shag rug might help lower tensions and improve relations.

"H-hey, orange and green is a synthesis of my family and my clan, I would be proud to wear them both together?"

[Yoko]

"Wait-" Yoko holds up a hand, snickering as she holds back a bout of laugher, "why did that sound like a question?"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Yeah..." He trailed off for a moment. "It's probably not what you imagined."

He smiled at Yoko. "Probably because she doesn't know whether to go with stripes or a checker pattern." The Captain speculated. "I'm liking stripes but I'm not sure it would work really."

[Moshi Meiko]

“....well not horizontal stripes obviously.”
Looking rather embarrassed
“But if I had enough silk... and time... and was better with my hands...”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"I'm sure Minari could help you with the sewing." The Captain suggested. "Maybe you two could make one for her as well."

He offered a warm smile to Meiko. "I'm sure you'd be able to make something nice, and silk is easy enough to come by." Though it was expensive.
