[Asahina Sanaharu]

Having basically spent three years inside Asahina Shinden, he knew that the Doji was doing and did not interrupt her, assuming she would share the results like divinators normally do.

[Doji Soon-ja]

"There's a great danger," the elderly Crane related slowly. "Some sort of darkness... a curse, perhaps. It... it seems especially to threaten the youngest among us." Her face was stricken at this revelation. "I'm so sorry."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

His eyes widened. "Among us... In the village, in the guests, on our Clan or on this room, Doji-sama?" He asked, taking his fan to give him a lot of wind.
...Because he was the youngest one on that room as far he knew.

[Kakita Masao]

Masao's thought is immediately of Daidoji Kio. Especially if she's been seeing a ghost or... Something. "Kakita-sama," he looks to the magistrate, "if you have no further need of me now, might I take leave to check up on young Kio-san?"

[Kakita Konohamaru]

Yuuwaku is content to observe.

It was a dark omen. But once, in his despair, his captain told him these words.

If the world will be darkness... "Then let us be thunder."

Konohamaru stood, slamming his palm on the table to gather the attention of the room.

"In times of darkness, Rokugani have pushed through nontheless. Our ancestors gave their all to ensure we can stand here now, to face this darkness. We are here with the skills we have, and if we all use them to their best we can push back the darkness in a brilliant show of light or such."

He turned to the largest Crane in the room.

"Asahina-san, would you elaborate and demonstrate?"

[Doji Soon-ja]

"I can't say, Asahina-san," Soon-ja admitted. "This type of divination is rarely so detailed. Kakita-sama has the right of it; it is for us to heed the warning and take action now."

He gets up on the command of the magistrate.

"Followers of Doji, children of one million brave heroes of the past and present; whose teachings have shaped history by glory, grace and gallantry; my message is one: Let the world move, as long as you stand at its center. If darkness strides against us a blow, let us answer as Konishiko-shiryo did when all hope seemed lost, and Hayaku-shiryo when he followed her footsteps. If we were to cower and hide, we would do them both and many others of the past a great disservice. They did not hesitate, they did not faulter, and neither should we."

Kintaro added, “It is vital that we protect both Kio and Yushoko, we are all simply instruments toward that goal. We must not ignore such a dark portent.”

[Kakita Konohamaru]

He gets up on the command of the magistrate.

"We aren't. Our point is we shall face the darkness as best we can, by being the best we can. Speaking of Kio and Yushoko, where are they?"

[Doji Kintaro]

He narrowed his eyes at the magistrate and added, “Speak to the others as you wish but I am the diplomatic lead here, you will not bully me Monster Magistrate. Our honored delegates are preparing for the luncheon, and I saw no need to involve them in this. I will relay what they need to know.”

[Kakita Konohamaru]

At what point had the two of them become antagonistic?

"I'm simply asking you do your best. If that is what you consider bullying then by all means," for the first time in a long time, he chuckled. It was a dark, ominous chuckle, less a sign of joy and more a mirthless acceptance of some sick, twisted joke. "Enjoy your second luncheon."

[Doji Kintaro]

"Apologies, your tone seemed to imply that I spoke in ignorance. Perhaps I misjudged it," he said calmly.

"It is Daidoji Yushoko's luncheon, I am simply on hand for her assistance."

[Kakita Masao]

This begins to tell upon us, Yuuwaku thinks. We cannot afford to be so fractious, certainly not here.

And we are not Phoenix; it should not be like this among us, cousins all.

She fans herself idly, listening.

"Apologies, your tone seemed to imply that I spoke in ignorance. Perhaps I misjudged it," he said calmly.

"That was not my intent - the error is mine."

What Kintaro actually spoke in was not properly listening and bad timing, but that was left unsaid. He turned to the gathered guests.

"It seems as if everyone's a little tense, so in summary. Stay from the docks, don't be alone at night, do your best and remember we are a clan. Now more than ever, we need to be unified against the future."

He then sat back down.

"That's all I need to say - feel free to enjoy lunch or do as you like. The official part of this meeting is over."

Kintaro departed respectfully.

[Daidoji Kaneko]

Kaneko who had watched calmly and quietly with a serene look on her features bowed and departed with the same candor as she had participated in the meeting.
