If Fishes were Wishes (Day 1 Early Evening)

[Moshi Meiko]

"Perfect! Captain-sama, would you like me to prepare your cabin?"

"I can quickly clean it too if needs be!"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Please. Though cleaning won't be nessacary, you can at least pick out a tea you would think is appropriate." It would be a good test to see what Meiko really thought of the Crab at the very least.

"Still, I'm not sure I'd say I was kind." Shouji offered turnign back towards the Crab. "You might want to get to know me a bit better before you peg me with that moniker." The captains tone was light as he said the latter, and the smile he gave the Crab was warm. "Perhaps you'd like a brief tour as Meiko gets everythign prepared Hiruma-san?"

[Moshi Meiko]

"Hai! I'll be right on it!"
Meiko turns and sprints back up the gangplank and into Shouju's room where she sets about preparing everything properly, plumping pillows, opening windows and of course, selecting tea. It's a choice she agonises over for a few moments before choosing a lighter pleasant tea from the Mantis lands with just a hint of mint.

[Hiruma Sen]

The Hiruma watched the small Mantis make her way off to wherever the Captain’s quarters happened to be.

“Ah! Yeah. A tour would be pretty nice.” Sen tried to hide the excitement of seeing a Mantis boat up close. “I’ve never been on one before. What’s it like?”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Well, it's a bit different then being on a little fishing boat." Shouji offered before collecting his fish and rising to his feet to make his way up the gangplank.

"The sea doesn't move her near as much as one of those, but you'd still be likely to feel it. At least if we weren't at port."

[Hiruma Sen]

“Must get disorientin’.” Sen followed right behind Shouji, a slight spring in her step. “So, lots of dried fish and other goods as rations? We dry and salt poultry to take on scouting missions.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"We supplement our meals with fresh fish we catch as well." The Captain replied as he lead the way around the deck and pointed out things of interest. "Fruit is also something we are sure to have on hand."

"As you can imagine though fire and ships don't mix. So cooking isn't something done too often."

[Hiruma Sen]

“Fires draw attention on scouting missions, so I get that. Hard not to have fresh cooked rice. I always miss that a lot.” Sen looked a bit surprised at the fruit bit. “What kind of fruit? I know that some rot really fast if it’s hot out, so you’d have to eat those fast.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"It varies depending on whats in season." Sometimes it was persimmons, others plum. "Oranges are fairly popular though, since they tend to keep a while. Other times we depend on things we can pickle."

"You do a lot of scouting around here then?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "A lot of dangers in these parts?"

[Hiruma Sen]

Sen shrugged, “Mostly bandit types around here. It’s also a good idea to not be seen by boar while out in the wilds. But I spent some time on the Wall as well.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"I see." Most crab did so it made a bit of sense. Still he was suprised to hear the open talk about bandits, most would try to hide that or so he figured. The brief tour of the deck done, Shouji moved towards his cabin.

"Perhaps we should see if Meiko is ready for us though?"

[Hiruma Sen]

“I do hope we gave her enough time to decide.” Sen seemed to be agreeable with the idea of joining the Moshi. “You keep a pretty good variety of teas?”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"A fair selection. Not all my guests are much for sake after all." Even if the day was late enough to partake.

Leading the way to his cabin he opened the door. "Everything in order, Meiko-san?" He asked looking for the tiny centipede.

Meiko seems to be brushing a non-existent amount of dirt into the corner. The cabin now smells faintly of rosmemary and a gently steaming pot of tea sits on the low table surrounded by cushions.

“Yup! I made sure everything was perfect.”

[Hiruma Sen]

“How thoughtful a host.” Sen eyed the cabin, quite curious to see how it looked on the inside. There was a nice scent wafting out, however. Seemed that Meiko had indeed made a decision. “It smells nice.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

The Captain's cabin was a bit spartan decorated, no trophies or gold filigree on furniture. It did have a homey feel to it though, and what furniture there was seemed comfortable.

Gesturing towards the small table. "Make yourself welcome, Hiruma-san." He offered politely before making his way towards the table himself. "What did you decide on as far as tea, Meiko-san?"

[Moshi Meiko]

“Pearl Dew, from the special collection.”
Clearly Meiko wanted to make a good impression having selected one of the finer and sweeter teas.

The Moshi bustles around and makes sure everyone else seated and comfortable before starting to carefully serve the tea to all.

[Hiruma Sen]

“Special collection?” For a Crab like Sen? Well, that for sure would make one feel a bit pampered. “You didn’t have to break out somethin’ special for me, Moshi-san.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

It was a bit more expensive then he would of picked, but he had told Meiko to choose what she would and he wouldn't chide her for it. It gave Shouji a bit of information about how the small Moshi felt.

"I wouldn't worry about it." He smirked slightly. "It's likely just Meiko's way of making an apology with my tea." Shouji said with an easy smile as he took his seat. "Plus you're a quest, and there is a need to echo the hospitality you showed to my Crew member."

[Moshi Meiko]

“Nothing says sorry like tea! Well, other than saying sorry. Which I did, and I am.”
Once she’s satisfied everyone is settled Meiko plonks herself down and starts drinking her own cup, looking between the captain and the Hiruma
“And nothing is too good for our friends and hosts in the Crab.”

Seeing as the Moshi had already taken a drink from her cup, Sen did much of the same. It was a nice light sweet blend, which she was thankful for. “You really didn’t have to apologize. Surely I put you on the spot without meanin’ to. Though, I do appreciate the sentiment.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

For the moment Shouji fell silent, letting the two others talk. His input wasn't really needed at the moment, and there was tea to be drank after all.

[Moshi Meiko]

“Well, it was a very nice spot all the same!”
Meiko savours the warmth and more importantly, the caffeine for a few moments before continuing on.

“So! Tell us about yourself. Have you always lived here? Have you been to the wall? What’s it like being one of the famous Hiruma scouts? Is it true you really can’t be seen if you don’t want to be?”

Oh no, she was being bombarded by questions. Sen looked down at the cup of tea, swirling it around before taking a sip. “Well, uhhh, yeah. Was born here. And yeah, served on the Wall. And as far as bein’ a scout, it’s kind of all I know.”

Though, the hiding part... Sen just looked at Meiko with wide eyes. “I mean, it ain’t like I’d go invisible. But I’m good at making myself unseen.”

Sen was living up to the Hiruma hype so far

Meiko launches into an upbeat story of her life growing up in the valley of the centipede, her big family, her training, how boring the valley was, how great captain-sama is and so on. Clearly the Moshi is prepared to go all night now that she’s made a new friend.
