[Day 1 - EN] Hole in One [RP Thread]

[Dapper Dog]

The Hole is the spot to be tonight, the entertainment is lively and the booze is flowing if one has the coin to enjoy the festivities. It’s supposed to be a party for the groom to be, but any excuse to drink and have fun is good enough for most Crab.

Hida Yuji was seated with a few Crab bushi at a table.

[Hida Yoji]

Yoji was skeptical if this would be a fun night but it was tradition... that is what someone told him.

He is pretty sure this was tradition.

[Kitsuki Naida]

Having given a little teasing dance on a table in the corner, Naida certain HOPED it was all tradition. But she was having fun and no one else had stopped her, so it certainly all seemed right to her.

For now, she found some food to help dull the warmth of the alcohol; No sense drinking on too empty of a stomach.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

The Captain for his part was having a fine time drinking more then a little too much. Course it didn't hurt that there was plenty of things to look at.

For the moment though he seemed to be keeping an eye on what crew was present here.

“Well that was certainly entertaining, where did you learn such enticing movements?” a handsome Crab samurai said as he approached the Dragon.

“Hida Morikasu, I would be honored to have the name of the divine creature before me.”

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He had made the pretty discourse trying to call people to joy. He was here for a reason, of course. After some questions on how the groom looked like and where he was seated with whom, he localized him. Or so he thought. Regardless, he sat on the table, surrounded by the Crab bushi. At least he met a lot of them on height.

"Oh, would you be Hida Yoji-san, the groom?"

Rank 2: The Soul's Dream
The Kakita Artisan is taught to use his art to affect those around them, inspiring emotions and shifting the views of the audience. When presenting a public performance or display of your chosen art, you may make a Contested Social Roll of (chosen art) / Awareness against Etiquette (Courtesy) / Willpower of the audience members. Those audience members who fail their rolls are profoundly swayed and their emotions shift in a direction you desire - becoming friendlier, more hostile, calmer, or whatever other emotional shift your art is designed to evoke. This emotional shift normally lasts a number of hours equal to your Insight Rank.

Note that not all persons are equally susceptible to the impact of art - the GM may rule that a particular individual is affected for a shorter period of time, or award a bonus to the resistance roll for person whose emotions are difficult to manipulate. The GM should normally have each individual audience member roll separately to resist this technique (this should always be done for PCs or important NPCs), but with large groups of ordinary NPCs the GM can opt to save time by making a single roll for most or all of them.

[Yue]

That free sake hit her harder than she would have liked but at least she only had to deal with a big buzz that was running through her sense at the moment. Why would anyone need to drink that much sake at any time? She wondered to herself. It seemed like a big waste of sake. The Crab seemed to enjoy that sort of decadence, despite their pragmatic ways. She was more than content to sit out the rest of the evening at the bar, rubbing at her cheeks with both hands as she felt how warm her red cheeks had gotten.

[Moshi Minari]

"I heard we were here to roast... or toast... whatever - I was told we're here to throw some shit around as we get shit-faced ourselves to night, all in honor of a great Crab warrior, who has inspired many tales of bravery and feats of strength, and is looked up to by several of his peers and family. Unfortunately, that warrior couldn't make it here tonight, so it's going to have to be Hida Yuji."

Minari was on a roll with her roasting, and was garnering a lot of rowdy laughs, mostly because she didn't seem to take any prisoners or show any mercy as to who were getting roasted. Good Kami, was she drinking her third bottle already?! "... So when I heard Hida Fuboshi's son was getting married, imagine my surprise at her still being alive, right?" she laughed. "She's a good Crab, you know. She's been fighting and taking names for a long, long, long, long time. Hida Fuboshi is so old, the fall of the Kami nearly ruined her gempukku. She's so old, she slapped the first goblin to ever exist over the head with her tetsubo. But we all know she's gonna outlive us all, yeah?!"

Another deep swig of the bottle. "Because Crab are made of the hardest stuff! And Mantis are chipped off that same block too!"

"... So it's a good thing our man's here is marrying a Daidoji since I don't think anyone but an Iron Crane could have hips strong enough to endure anything that came out of Hida Fuboshi."

[Hida Yoji]

Yoji got to his feet and said to the artisan, “Uhh… hello Crane-sama, sorry I didn’t catch the name. I appreciate the kind words, though.”

“It’s a bit crazy tonight.”

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Crane-san, please. I'm no diplomat, merely an artist." He replies on a graceful nod. "The name is Asahina Sanaharu."
He put down his biwa at the ground, leaning over his lap.
"A bit crazy, yes?"

“Asahina-san, welcome then, have a seat with us. This is Kojo, Hanzu, and Biyo; the worst bunch of recruits a soldier could lead,” he joked warmly.

They pour the Crane some shoju and Biyo, a women with a short hair and a long scar on the right side of her face smirked and said, “Drink up pretty boy.”

Walking through the party, Yoko found herself in need of new companions after she took the metaphorical stage moments prior and went searching for just that. Naturally, the best place was at the bar and she found herself there. Asking after some more drinks: "to continue to enjoy this fine evening!" she said loudly, as if it was a display for the party. Settling down a little she took up a space nearish Yue and rested her elbows against the bar.

He nods, acknowledging the others and looking over them for any attention-worthy features. He let out a chuckle at the joke — a sincere one, truthful or not — and takes the cup, unsure if it was shochu or sake. He drank a little sake when it was inevitable to do so, but never touched shochu on his life. The cup was bigger than he would like for a first try, too. He looked at it, unsure for some seconds.
Not wanting to annoy the hosts, he gave a coy smile to Biyo, brought the cup near and took a sip to taste. Definetively what he imagined shochu would taste like, if only more bitting.

He nods, acknowledging the others and looking over them for any attention-worthy features. They grin at the Crane and cheer him on as he drank. Yoji then said, “Take it slow if it’s your first time, don’t go all hero on our account.”

“So what do you think?” he asked looking at the cup.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He stopped some seconds to ponder where he came to and what he was doing. A rōnin entering the place caught his attention on the corner of his eye. He now has a clear idea to where he was.
He would never complain to himself about anything on the Kakitas' small court again.
"Too cutting for me. I will stay with matcha." He replies to the question.

[Dapper Dog]

Biyo slapped Yoji on the back and said, "Told you, you owe me now... I hope you like night patrol."

The rest of the Crab laughed.

[Amika]

After her intervention and toast in the groom's honor, Amika returned to her place and quietly continues to drink, this time in a more moderate way, keeping her grace as best as she could.

For a while she thought that she could had offered a bit of a song or maybe even danced, but, she was not so sure if the others would had appreciated her doing that. Perhaps they would had liked it, but the time had passed and she didn't mess up with her words amids the massive amount of sake so it was fine...

Biyo slapped Yoji on the back and said, "Told you, you owe me now... I hope you like night patrol."

He was caught on surprise by that. People rarely laughed this open to what he was used to. He could not avoid parting his lips ever so slightly.

"It's his wedding week, spare him." He mentioned. Forcing a groom to work on festive times was cruel at worst and uncommon at best, for what he was used.

[Yue]

"Spare these tits, pretty boy, he backed the wrong bird," Hida Biyo said with a grin.

"You a big bird though, maybe we can work out a deal for the sake of the groom," she teased as she poured herself more shoju.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"This big bird is a nightingale, not an eagle. He sings, and does not fight." He replies with a soft nod. "...And he also does not debauches or falls in dishonor." He took the care to add, hoping the analogy was simple enough.

[Yoko]

Yue stopped rubbing her cheeks and perked up at the figure sitting next to her, perhaps ready to leave her seat in case she was somewhere where she wasn't to be. Bringing her arms up she linked her hands together and stretched them high, a little groan as she did so. Shifting to turn more toward Yue than the bar she brought her arms back down and leaned up on the bar again with her right elbow.

Hat having been taken off before the dancing, Naida looked up from the steamed bun she was munching on, "Oh? Ah, Hida-san, gomen. I was just enjoying the food here."

Setting the bun down on the small plate it had come on she gave a bow, "Kitsuki Naida's the name. A pleasure. As to where..."

Truthfully she didn't know anything about dancing. But it was just being free and using one's natural gifts, right?

"Well, I think I can thank Inari for that particular inspiration. And a bit of using basic exercises as a basis for movement."

[Yue]

Glancing over toward Yue, Yoko smiled big and proud, "Oh, hey!" she chuckled a little and leaned off the bar. "Having a good night, Samurai-" she paused, glanced, "-san?" she added with a question. Bringing her arms up she linked her hands together and stretched them high, a little groan as she did so. Shifting to turn more toward Yue than the bar she brought her arms back down and leaned up on the bar again with her right elbow.

"...I'm having a good night, yeah," she said with an anxious look about her as she thought she just got out of socializing around here. However, this seemed like it was harmless at least. "And yourself, samurai-san? Are you local around here?"
