"You're being very kind to us, Suzume-san." Hifumi smiled. "Thank you."

"It is our honor to receive you and treat you to the hospitality of the Sparrow," she said proudly.

[Ikoma Ren]

"It is a kindness you already have shared with us!" Ren beams and pulls out a cup of his own and starts pouring

[Shosuro Himeko]

Himeko decided to leave it. For now at least. It wasn't worth the effort to poke more, so she brought her pipe to her lips to smoke as she watched over the others for a short while as they admired the Sparrows display of wealth.

"You spoil us Suzume-san. We are undeserving of such lavish offerings" she said politely, giving the girl a bow "thank you. I will pass on the sake, thank you though Ikoma-san." She finally rose to come and get some of the food, putting a little of each onto a place before returning to her watchers stump.

"Have you never left these lands Suzume-san?"

"Not yet, just too much to do around here to spare someone for travel," she said in reply.

[Ikoma Ren]

"There is more to life than fields and seeds Suzume-san. How does one grow the clan if they stay sheltered within their own lands, chancing upon visitors? While Ikoma-san has taken quite quickly to your way of life, I don't believe he intends to remain here unfortunately. Marriage and children are an important part of ones duty after all."

Ren stays close, placing the bottle of sake close to Himeko, not serving her yet. He was curious to see if she would indicate him to serve her

There was a look at the bottle, then a look at Ren, as if to ask 'and?'

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"Are you suggesting a match, Shosuro-san?" Hifumi asked.

[Shosuro Himeko]

"Hm?" Himeko looked to the Fuzake woman "perhaps I am. Suzume-san and Ikoma-san do compliment each other well, ne?"

[Ikoma Ren]

"I compliment a great number of people Shosuro-san. I believe I have to you already" Ren's eyes twinkle and the wordplay, finally breaking their standoff my pouring a cup of sake. "It's part of a courtier's life after all. The trick is making sure compliments are well and accurately placed"

[Shosuro Himeko]

"Oh, I see. So your compliments are not genuine Ikoma-san? As you say, it is just part of a courtiers life" Himeko brought her pipe up to smoke again, a smile on her lips "one would like to think the compliments they receive are especially for them after all, not part of a grander scheme."

It was clearly a tease, but she was amused. Something had to be interesting here after all.

[Ikoma Ren]

"Oh, they're genuine. Accusing a samurai of saying an untruth is rather serious, no?" Ren gives his best mock somber face, but it's easy to see that he's thoroughly amused as well at the repartee. "And besides, if you can't do both, why get in the game at all Shosuro-san?"

[Dapper Dog]

The Sparrow seems content to enjoy the company, fascinated with the new folks but not intruding.

[Shosuro Himeko]

"Oh, they're genuine. Accusing a samurai of saying an untruth is rather serious, no?" Ren gives his best mock somber face, but it's easy to see that he's thoroughly amused as well at the repartee. "And besides, if you can't do both, why get in the game at all Shosuro-san?"

"Perhaps I misunderstood Ikoma-san then. My apology" she bowed to the man "I don't consider compliments a game though. Unless you refer to the dance of court? I can see that being a game, a very potentially deadly one but where is life without a few risks, ne?" She peeked at Aya, adding "one never knows when a weasel may come about."

[Fuzake Hifumi]

The Monkey is also quite content to watch and listen.

"We do not speak of the weasels lightly," she said making a warding motion with her hands.

[Ikoma Ren]

"Nor should we of compliments?" Ren responds, sipping his sake. He motions to the others and holds up his cup. "Is it not to your liking?"
