Get It? Wave Man [Day 0, Mid-Afternoon]

[Ikeda Ishi]

"I would like to see such a thing," she said looking back to the sea.

[Yoko]

"Shame the afternoon is proving to be disappointing," she commented, pausing to take another drink. With a few extra seconds put into the drinking she capped it. Where she usually paused to savor she absently leaned up and worked on securing it to her hip again as she looked out toward the sea.

[Ikeda Ishi]

"Agree-" she did not finish before vomiting up what little she had in her stomach over the railing, onto the railing and some of it on herself.

[Yoko]

As her hands were already busy with the rope keeping the bottles to her side, she glanced up enough to be sure and got to undoing the one for the water. Glancing away when Ishi returned to herself enough to give her a bit of privacy.

"Here," she said, grabbing up the water bottle and holding it out to offer it with one arm as she leaned against the railing with her other again. "Rinse, spit, drink. Keep it for the ride, little sips, should maybe settle your stomach," she spoke quickly, maybe to give less of a chance for her to refuse. "Not sure if it's the same but it's what mom told me when I got sick when I was younger."

[Ikeda Ishi]

She nodded and took the offered water as she removed her top, she was a muscular woman but she followed the words as the ronin seemed more versed in this area.

[Yoko]

Yoko had the ability to appreciate the view, and she wanted to, but even more so because of how she wanted to she didnt. Yoko was taught well enough to measure against herself and not what she could get away with, so she looked back to sea and leaned on the side again.

"Might be able to ask the Captain for more advice," she shrugged, chuckled. "Or just hold out till we get there. Won't be too much longer, morning I think I heard?"

[Ikeda Ishi]

"I think I will just try and last and find a place to clean my clothes my dignity will just have to suffer for now," she replied with a sigh.

[Yoko]

"Want mine, for now?" she suggested, glancing over to read her again. Shifting over to the side again she faced Ishi, paused to think and then gave a quick inward sigh. Leaning on the one arm she brought her hand up to tug by the collar of her own top. "My dignity isn't worth nearly as much, if you're of a mind to accept."

[Ikeda Ishi]

"That is kind but an Ikeda who does not accept their failings is doing their ancestors a disservice," she responded.

[Yoko]

"Sure," she said, a little nod as she looked back toward the sea over her shoulder. "Don't think taking the help isn't accepting yo-" she shook her head, "never mind, not quite my place to comment. Paused, a thought, "How about this," she looked back, tugged at the translucent cloth that clung to her shoulders. Smaller than a shirt, but it was more than nothing, "it's not much, might save some of that dignity and still let you pay your price?"

[Ikeda Ishi]

She nodded and accepted the kindness. She went and found a bucket and started trying to clean the clothing and said, "That is kind of you, unexpected."

[Yoko]

Yoko shifted to face Ishi as she both collected the bucket and started washed her clothes, maintaining that conversational distance. "Had a good teacher, mom trained me well," she said with a little shrug. Watching the woman for a moment, a small pause in the thought. "What makes you expect I'd act any differently? If," she paused, waved her hand, "you know, you don't mind my askin'."

[Ikeda Ishi]

"Ronin are not known for their kindness, but perhaps that is simply my lack of knowledge," she responded.

[Yoko]

Yoko watched her for a moment, quirked her right brow strangely, but bit her lip and let the first thought pass.

"By sheer number," she shook her head, shrugged. "Well, you're not wrong. My mom found work a few times uh-.." she paused, twisted her lip a little. Gingerly, "dealing with their like for coin plenty of times. Always figured that'd be the brunt of the work I would take on some day too. Pays well, well.. well enough to keep you in comfort while you tend the wounds," she waved her hand, getting passed the unimportant details.

"Anyway, guess I'm glad at least I got the chance to show you something new then. Maybe that's the whole reason we met today, eh?" she suggested, and then chuckled a little as she shook her head.

[Ikeda Ishi]

"Perhaps that is so, thank you for showing me something new," she said as she cleaned.

[Yoko]

Yoko watched for a moment longer. Shifting how she stood, how she watched, then shifted again. Crossing her arms, and then quirked a brow and crossed them again. All together the process took maybe a minute.

"I-" she started, paused, reminded herself she already started and, "can I help at all in any way, Samurai-sama? I'm a little uncomfortable with the idea of just standing here watching you wash up when I could be.. doing something."

[Ikeda Ishi]

"There is not much you can do, once the clothes are cleaned I plan to go below decks and change as is. I apologize for making you unnerved," she responded.

[Yoko]

"I-" she shook her head. Glancing around the area for a moment, out toward the water, she quirked her brow and then stepped forward a little. "How about.. names? If that's alright?" she brought her hand up to her chest.

"I'm Yoko," she tapped her chest once.

[Ikeda Ishi]

"How rude of me, my ancestors must weep that I have acted so poorly. This one is Ikeda Ishi in service to Otomo Yusuke, Imperial Guardswoman," she said calmly.

[Yoko]

Paused, a smile, she brought her thumb across her cheek to the edge of her lips and seemingly wiped the smile off. With a little bow, "A pleasure," she said, righting herself and resting her hands against her hip. "And-" she quirked a brow, shook her head. "Don't think you have to worry so much about your ancestors being disappointed, eh? Just a Ronin, after all. Don't think they'll judge you too harshly for it."

[Ikeda Ishi]

"How we treat the lowest reflects just as much as we treat the highest," she said with a nod.

[Yoko]

"Right-" she said, voice sounding off as she bit her lip a little. Turning about she found herself back over toward the side of the ship, looking out over the water. Relaxing into her lean again she said, "But-" she paused, shook her head. "Guess I don't know what they teach you, how they teach it to you, but if everything from lowest to highest has a purpose, but Ronin don't, where do I fit in with all that? Sounds to me like I don't, which would leave me to think your ancestors wouldn't think poorly of you, but you say they would so.." she shook her head again, shrugged.

"Actually, just- don't mind me, Ikeda-sama, just thinking aloud," she said, sighing as she looked out onto the waves in search of a set of fins.

[Ikeda Ishi]

The Ikeda nodded and said, "As you say, Yoko-san."

[Yoko]

With that Yoko took to maintaining her watch, for the while. Crossing one arm over the other so that she made something of a bar with her arms to lean onto the side of the boat with. Inhaling deeply of the ocean air. Closing her eyes for the moment and just letting herself forget a little while, focus on this moment.

[Ikeda Ishi]

Ishi finished and rose to her feet. She said, "Thank you for Compassion, Yoko-san."

She then retreated below decks.
