The Empress must seek an heir to secure her lineage. Given the support of the Mantis, Crane, and Crab; it is expected that the spouse will come from one of those three clans.

I see - then I stick by my answer. The Empress is still trying to find her feet; to also demand a major binding of allegiance and the duties of motherhood of her so early is not something Kono believes would be honourable.

So the Crane will bring her a worthy spouse but she'll take him as consort. Sounds about right, doesn't it Kono?
