Yue thought she could get the jump on anyone but unfortunately, she was likely preoccupied with trying to look invisible than actually paying attention it seemed.

The ronin thug charged off the porch and swung his blade with both hands but the strike was avoided by the nearest of inches.

OOC: The PCs are about 15 feet from the cabin. Umaji is inside and unseen.

[Yoko]

Tracking the blade as it slid passed her and missed, Yoko smirked. Ready and waiting as her mother taught her she was in a position for her blade to fly from it's saya. Slicing across the chest of the man with deadly accuracy as she stepped into the space clear of his blade he'd provided for her just to his side and turned about.

"Bad move," she chided, settling into her placement. Readying herself for the next strike.

The thug turned at the last moment to turn the blade from a serious wound to one less serious but still blood was drawn. Inside Umaji does something behind closed doors.

OOC: Ronin Thug used Void to reduce wounds to 12 and then Reduction takes that to 10. Now Yue's turn.

[Yue]

Had the fighting started already? Why hadn't she been paying attention? Yue gritted her teeth at the sound of hostilities and quickly took an arrow from her quiver. There was no room for error or fancy shooting, especially considering the person that Yoko was fighting was engaged to her.

She quickly launched an arrow at the assailant to back up Yoko. It did manage to hit the intended person thankfully but only slightly.

The thug stumbled from the arrow looking surprised at the direction but decided to focus on Yoko for now. His injuries were already impairing his ability and he was not liking his odds.

Moving as he brought on his attack, Yoko prepared her own response but she was distracted when she saw him stumble a bit. Biting her lip as she watched her blade arc clean on the second strike. Chiding only herself this time.

Catching herself in thought, "We can stop any time," she offered.

A feral howl rings out from the home as a naked woman runs off into the brush from inside. A brutish looking man wearing a dark kabuto and hefting an ono walked out and then seeing Yoko he rushed at her and swung the massive weapon at her. Thankfully the weapon goes wide!

OOC: UmajiAttack vs. Yoko TN 25: 6d10ro1o10k2 21 - miss, now Yue's turn.

[Yue]

Yue gave wide blinks when another ronin made his appearance, perhaps far more bigger and fearsome than she thought he would be. They really managed to wake the bear from his cave, didn't they? She took out another arrow and aimed it at the larger ronin and fired her shot.

The arrow does not seem to phase the brute as he roared with glee and said, “I’ll eat your heart!”

Meanwhile his ally sensing that he is just another arrow or slash from death turns to run. He didn’t sign up to die for Umaji!

"Fuck me you're big," she exclaimed, stepping back a bit when Umaji's swing came out and missed. Glancing to see the other ronin turned to run she focused on the new target. Focusing on bringing her strike in to deal some real damage she struck clean across his chest in a defensive slash. Hoping to inflict enough of a wound that was sure to turn the skirmish in their advantage despite his size.

The brute raised his ono once more forgoing any defense and attacking wildly landing a savage blow on the woman!

OOC: Void used to reduce damage to 15 and then reduced to 13, so 22 wounds, Grazed. Full Attack stance so TN 10. Deals 24 wounds to Yoko.

Yue gasped sharply when she saw Yoko take that vicious hit from Umaji and continued her fire support into the brute. She tried for a difficult shot with some concentration and hit her mark as intended.

...Actually, the wind might have carried the arrow further than she intended and exceeded her expectations.

The brute raised his axe but a flying arrow ends whatever intent he had. He fell to his knees and then collapsed.

[Yoko]

From devoting so much to her positioning on her strike for a good and deep cut Yoko didn't have the footing or reserves to get much out of the way. Yoko'd winced hard, feeling the sting of his axe along with the bludgeoning force with which it was swung. Luckily it was caught a bit by her armor, saving her from something that would have been a bit more dire.

When she looked back up though, the Brute was halfway to the ground.

"Shit-" she glanced quickly over her shoulder for where Yue probably was, arm quickly going to test and feel her wound. Mostly it was the force of the axe beating against her armor that did damage but he'd drawn a bit of blood too.

[OOC:]

[Yue]

Yue would have to count her blessing as her shot proved true to bring the conflict to a close, or at least from her vantage point. She gave a glance around her surroundings as she took a quick breather. Was it truly over? She stayed where she was for now but raised her hand to give Yoko a wave from her position to show her where she was, perhaps show any sign if she should approach of stay on her overwatch.

[Yoko]

Spotting the other woman she gave a quick nod, a smile despite the pain. Raising up her hand with palm showing for her to wait the moment. Soldiering through she rose and walked over toward the brutes body. Better safe than sorry she quickly used her blade to cut clean the mans head and let it rest where it lay. Whipping her sword out to the side to give it a cursory clean before she looked back over toward Yue and pointed to the cabin.

With her intent made known she walked up to it, taking a quick gander inside to be safe.

[Yue]

Yue crept up from her option but kept her distance as she eyed her surroundings for anyone else to appear. She recalled there was a woman and the other ronin from earlier. It was doubtful they would come back when they no longer had a leader as it would mean dying for nothing, no cause and no money to be had. However, there were things that happened in the last few days that wouldn't make the act all that surprising in comparison.

[Dapper Dog]

Inside is a pretty dirty and sparse interior with two make shift beds and a fire pit.

[Yoko]

Stepping back outside Yoko would pull a cloth she'd set aside for her blade free from her things, wiping her blade down as she whistled for Yue. Catching her eye she waved her over and finished with the cleaning of her blade where she stood. Returning it then to it's saya.

"Saw the girl run off?"

[Yue]

Yue meandered over from her spot and gave Yoko a look over to see if she was okay. If they were injured enough, there would have been no point of sticking around when they had already completed the job. However, she supposed they were in good shape enough to linger around. She merely nodded at her and glanced off to the direction of the brush. "Yeah, not dressed in much...I don't know if she'll make it very far like that."

She carefully made her way toward the direction of the girl, following her tracks, but she had a feeling that she would be far more visible to the untrained eye.

Day 7, Early Afternoon: Hunting/Perception: 4d10o10k2 16

[Yoko]

Nodding in turn as Yue set off. Yoko set about turning her attention into the cabin. Searching around for the woman's clothing, or perhaps just something she might be able to offer the girl in it's stead. Something for her feet too, she hoped.

Yue meandered over from her spot and gave Yoko a look over to see if she was okay. She finds the young woman hiding in a bush.

[Yue]

"I have someone here!" she called out to Yoko when she found the young woman that they were looking for. She didn't approach her or make and sudden movements. However, she still kept her yumi close to her at the moment.

"You can...come out? He's gone now. We can take you back to town, if you wish..." she said delicately to the girl.
