Yusuke was all smiles and said with concern, "My boy, my boy, you look like you faced an entire army by your loathsome. I pray that you gave them better than you got?"

[Otomo Saisei]

He coughs a bit and nods with a pained smile on his face, "I had friends helping out. It could have been much worse without them there."

There's a shrug and he mentions, "I sort of forgot the correct words for the... eto... ritual. SO, I couldn't have done less afterwards. Wouldn't want them to think that bad of the Imperial Families for that minor misstep."

Another cough and he bows, "Good morning Yusuke-sama. I hope Inari-kami has been kind."

[Otomo Yusuke]

"It is, and same for you, I am pleased you have done so well," he said kindly.

"An eventful day, for all of us."

[Otomo Saisei]

"Hai..." He lowers his head in deference of the departed, and then inhales to say. "New beginnings, now that the days are back into the kharmic wheel."

"Agreed, but we have many changes ahead of us, I need to pen letters and begin the dance of succession. Though we are but lowly functionaries the Clans will look to us for direction," he said proudly.

[Otomo Saisei]

He nods, and slowly takes seiza without groaning too much so he can begin helping out. Saisei asks, "What is Yusuke-sama's plan and what does he need me to focus at?"

[Otomo Yusuke]

“For now we try and make ourselves available to the heir and seek any clarification from the Capitol, this transition is important to the long stability of the Oturi and it is in our best interests to align ourselves behind one vision,” he said with a smile.

“How do you feel?”

He narrows his eyes and takes a moment to reply. After a deep breath, he says, "I feel injured. Severely, yet I'll recover in time."

The young man takes pen and parchment to start making notes and asks, "Before I begin, a few questions, if I may: would her brothers doubt of the authenticity of the communication I was made aware –– and more importantly, what vision will we be supporting?"

"Which communication do you mean?" the Otomo asked, seeking clarification.

[Otomo Saisei]

"The Miya's. I've heard about our Empress departure. I had already left court when the Shisha opened the letter."

[Otomo Yusuke]

"She is the heir, but, her brother holds the Capitol," he responded grimly.

"It's not an ideal situation and we have to decide how to best resolve any potential for chaos."

[Otomo Saisei]

"Where the Throne lies, indeed." Saisei wets the pen in the ink, and asks further, "Has Yusuke-sama talked with Miya-sama in the meantime so he could see the letter?"

The younger Otomo looks to the ground and rubs his chin, "It is just a rather incredible coincidence that the marriage Yusuke-sama arranged gets blessed by the proclaimed heir to the Throne. I would be so bold as to make sure there's no room for mistakes. There's much at stake and honor can surely be backed by glory when unions are sealed."

[Otomo Yusuke]

“I have spoken directly with her honor guard, and I am working out a way to provide assistance to the Throne as is our Duty. The letter I have had a gander of but hope to speak with Miya-san in the near future to gauge the climate of things,” he said in reply.

“Will you be well enough to travel?”

[Otomo Saisei]

"I am much more relieved that you ascertain the previous ronin is indeed our princess and announced heir." He nods again, "Hai. I plan to get better soon, Yusuke-sama. Perhaps in two or three days, I hope, I can walk without the crutches."

[Otomo Yusuke]

“I am sure you well recover with speed,” he said warmly.

“I suspect we will be returning to the Capitol sooner than expected. But we shall be in good company.”

[Otomo Saisei]

"Wouldn't that be a troublesome return, though?" He says, raising an eyebrow, "What if the siblings are aware of the missive written in the letter, and, well, do not agree to that?"

[Otomo Yusuke]

“Well that is precisely why we must leave with haste once the wedding is done. The current regent will not waste time to announce that Oturi Yuahime, blessed be her name has died or some other accident and assume the throne in her steed. I am hoping to align our cause with the Mantis and Crane to grant us honorable escort into the Capitol to rectify any misunderstandings,” he responded.

“If things take a turn for the worst well, this old man will bear any ill-will with the Honor and Sincerity a scion of Otomo should.”

[Otomo Saisei]

He tilts his head a bit, asking, "I understood that Crane and Mantis should be put at different places. Should we select one of them to provide this support, or does Yusuke-sama think in actually having a... joint venture?"

"Necessity may require a more joint venture, we shall see if the divine daughter sees my reasoning," he replied.

[Otomo Saisei]

The young Otomo rubs his chin and then bows again, confirming, "Hai, Yusuke-sama. I will move accordingly... slow now as I recover, clearly. Crane and Mantis together, then."

[Otomo Yusuke]

"Until such time that we have secured her seat and then... well, we can cross that bridge in time. I have one more tile to play in this game, but for now I must keep it close to the chest, although do make yourself presentable for Court on the morrow," he said with a smile.

"Hai, Yusuke-sama!" He nods again, understanding he should find a way to get healed faster, today.

"Is there anything else, my boy?" he asked.

He coughs a bit to say, "I have said as Yusuke-sama recommended. Having some fun and mingling. I've noticed that there are some gi... ladies, actually, that are showing potential signs of affection. Not sure how to proceed now. If I go forward, and... well... enjoy more... it might give them misguided expectations."

Putting hands on his lap, he asks, "Since I understand I shouldn't ruin mine or someone else's reputation, and marriage potential: What would Yusuke-sama suggest... just in case?"
