The girl was fine if just asleep… it was hard to tell but she was alive.

Saisei repeats the first mantra perfectly, as he does on the second. The third though... he kind of gets a bit creative.

Junza said, “Now we must channel our energies to break the spirit’s connection to the land… we must free Hitomi and her parents! Steel yourselves the dark spirits may try to take advantage of you in this moment. Stay strong!”

They can hear the dark whispers tempting them as Hitomi appears in the circle.

OOC: Make an Earth check of TN 26, a character can sacrifice 10 wounds to reduce the TN by 5 as well but if they fail the roll having sacrificed your life force they allow kansen to corrupt the ritual the spirit will still be banished but… there will be bad outcome post game. This TN was reduced due to having the images of the ghosts.

If the roll is failed they can purposefully allow the kansen to flow through them and gain 2 successes instead of the one. The character gains Taint .5 and this will corrupt the ritual. Each success grants a Ritual point, they need 3 for a full banishing. Wound penalties do not apply if they are sustained in the ritual.

OOC: You can call a raise for an additional success and the TN can only be lowered to TN 5 at the lowest.

[Otomo Saisei]

Saisei's face begins to drain and his muscles start to dry out as if life itself is sucked out of him through his voice. His eyes get bloodshot red and then darken out. He booms a mighty shout, "IN THE NAME OF THE SON OF HEAVEN..."

He lifts his hand up, and then waves it away in air slap to command the spirit, "...BEGONE!"

[Kakita Konohamaru]

At Saisei's display Konohamaru almost gives his all as well, almost gives his lifeforce to see the spirit banished.

However, out of his element, down in his own and thinking on those who still need him, he does not.

You could call it cowardice if you wished, but the bridge had already been built.

Perhaps it was because of that he could see how far it meant to fall.

In the middle of the spiritual war, The dread magistrate can only stand impressed.

"Not bad... not bad at all. Rest well, Hitomi."

(Konohamaru will rest on Saisei's success.)

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

Hanatsuko readied herself for whatever was to happened. There was much for her to stick to life now that she had found a kindred soul. She knew that Saisei sacrifice would not go in vain.

If she knew this spirit's intention was pure she would had aided by severing her connection to Chikuchudo but by what it had showed her the girl's intention is to harm and cause fear on the hearts of people. She kept high alert because she knew the use of blood would bring something from the unholy realm.

[Dapper Dog]

Hitomi appears but her greasy hair is dry and she is no longer dripping dirty water, and her clothing was clean a dark blue kimono. Bujeihime and Gusari turn to the little girl and take her hands and hand her the little figurines.

Then the trio walk off the cliff edge into the a bright light and then vanish.


Junza smiled and said, “I can’t believe that worked, will have to remember this in the future.”

Saisei drops to the floor, withered and unconscious.

Hanatsuko lowered her guard moving towards Saisei. "Kuni sama what about Otomo sama? Is there anything you can do to help him?" She seemed a bit worried about his current state.

Junza nodded and said, “Help me get the Imperial and we can take him to the castle. I am no skilled healer and he needs immediate attentions of our best.”

With a nod, the Magistrate moves to help the Otomo.

"The monk here is a practised healer, if she'd see us."

Speak of the oni, Aji approached having seen the scene from the safety of the shrine and said, "The air feels different."

Hanatsuko helped Konohamaru. "Our friend here help us in the ritual." She looked at the Lion. "Lion sama may be the best to tell the tale."

Aji nodded and produced her medicine kit and did what she could to help the Imperial it was meager but surely it would give some relief for whatever he had endured there. She said, “You do not have to explain, I think I understand hat you have done and I am thankful for it.”

The Otomo opens his eyes. They not blackened as they saw before, but there's plenty of red on where white is supposed to be. He tries to speak, still too debilitated, "Is... she... gon...?"

"Yes Otomo sama. She is gone. You must rest now." She looked at Aji. "Would it be too much trouble for him to stay her. I will stay with him if needed."

"Of course let us get him to a bed," she said warmly.
