Reporting Back [Day 4, LE]

[Yue]

"Well, was it something we did earlier? Like maybe at the fertility festival? Or at the drinking party? Or maybe the day ends with someone tearing a charm that should have been torn. No charms should be torn...but maybe a really powerful charm?" she offered as a further elaboration to her idea.

[Yoko]

"Oh, maybe?" she shrugged. "Not sure how we'd fix that. Still.. if it is like that I'd think it'd have to be something that would have happened the night we repeated, or.. the day before, eh? So, the festival or after I'd say. Which means at least we didn't party too hard," she chuckles, shaking her head.

[Yue]

"Partying was never on my list of things to do until I found myself in a Crab wedding party," she gave a shake of her head, "however, I think even I would be thankful for a few drinks after this is over. It has been the longest day, for obvious reasons. Just makes me wonder if we tried to leave, would we just escape it?"

[Yoko]

"Only way to try would be aboard the Mantis ship.. last I recall the Crab have excercises going which has us trapped here by land, eh? And.. I'm not so keen on trying to do that aboard a boat," she shudders a little. "Something tells me stuff like this has a.. bad reaction when you try and a bad reaction is the last thing I want to experience aboard a boat. After all this though.. however it ends? You can count on those drinks," she smirked, gave a little nod, "on me."

"Which.. speaking of that night, Yue-san. You spoke of a job lead.. I happened by asking around town a little, found one. Woman may or may not remember by tomorrow but can always look into it again, eh? Which means we get some time to do ground work.. if you're interested? It's not.. it might be a good bit of normalcy to get away from.." she gives a wave of her hand, "all this."

[Yue]

Yue didn't feel like shackling Yoko to that promise, as drinks weren't her particular thing but she would certainly welcome them.

She raised a brow at the mention of the job, perhaps more surprised at Yoko than the lead itself. "Oh, here I thought you weren't interested but it was hard to tell with a night when there are drinks and we're just talking. You didn't seem like the type to want to cause trouble, well, because...but so you've looked into it? If there's still a cut and room for me, I don't mind. I'm not too picky when it comes to jobs but even if they seem a bit fishy. Whatever gets me more out there, right?"

[Yoko]

"Went into it thinking it'd just be good to know, eh? Whatever someone's got to planning about. Well- the suggested the Hole with yours, eh? I went to the inn so.. maybe not the same job. Anyway," she waved off the thought with her hand. "One I came into involves another ronin. Man who apparently has a thing for causing trouble with ladies," she gave a shrug with her shoulders, "a brute as he was described. Figure you and I could look into it, see if the job matches expectation and if he's as bad as she says.."

"If everything checks out he's just the kind of man I like to see taken care of, eh? One that won't be missed but rather quite the opposite. So, I'll handle it. Don't want.." she shook her head. Looked to Yue with a bit of focus, "It's not nice work, but it's the kind of work I'm keen toward. Bit different than hunting animals, eh? Don't wanna force that on you."

[Yue]

Yue shook her head, showing little reservation regarding the job. "It's not a matter you'll be forcing on me, Yoko-san. A job is a job, I suppose it makes it easier on the authorities when it comes to a troublemaker. We could always say that he has been causing trouble with us if worse come to worst."

She was under the impression that it was going to involve somebody who was more proper initially, judging by the sketchy ronin's tip a few days ago in the Crane lands but this did make the job easier.

[Yoko]

"Comes easier to my conscience too, being honest," she gave a shrug, regarding Yue for a moment with a little smirk. "His particular type of menace doesn't make it any.. well, harder. Anyway," she waved off the thought with her hand a little. "Just- be prepared for anything, eh? Don't.. wouldn't feel right going into this if I didn't say that."

[Yue]

"That's fair enough," she nodded soundly at that, "and...thank you for asking. I suppose with a hungrier ronin, it might not even be a question...but nice of you to consider. We really have no telling if this is connected or if it'll even stick but it is worth a look at least. Let me know and I'll have my bow ready."

[Yoko]

"Will have some things to look into tomorrow, guys name is Umoji if you have the thought to hear anything more about him around town. Just.. careful eh? Learned anything growing up.." she shook her head, waved it off a little. "If I learned anything early in my years it's that word travels fast, eh? So.. be careful."

"We'll head out together when things lighten up and we find our chance," she gave with a smile, and a confirmatory nod.

[Yue]

"Don't we have the element of surprise in this? I would imagine that we're looking for him more than he's looking for us," she gave a shrug and gave a look around the boat to see who could have possibly heard them. Loose lips sink ships, or something to that effect? "But I'll keep an eye out. I've been jumping at things that aren't even there...the day has me pretty rattled to say the least. I don't think relaxing is on my agenda in the slightest."

[Yoko]

"Good way to be right now," she chuckled half-heartedly and shook her head. "Just mean to say that hearing more is good, but asking more is risky, eh? But I'd like to know anything we can find out, don't exactly want to leave it up to what one old woman told me about him, eh? If.. well, if he is what she says he is we might well figure out all we need by meeting the guy anyway.. still, good to listen around about the name."

[Yue]

She bobbed her head once, understanding what she was getting at. "If I hear the peasants whisper it at the inn when I'm doing my chores for the umpteenth time, I'll be sure to tell you. There are a lot of Cranes here too and they do hear their share of rumours. I wonder if they got word of his name and might not even realize if he mattered to anyone."

[Yoko]

"Could be," she shrugged, laughed as she shook her head. "Much as they're like to gossip, not sure ronin are usually their-" she shook her head, brought up a hand and held it out a little as if to call for someone to wait. "No, actually I think this group of Crane's we have here are quite like to even speak about ronin. At least.. some of them," she shook her head.

[Yue]

"No...I figured as much with my experience among the Crane but I was just thinking that they might have happened upon the tale and tossed it out without it knowing," she gave a small shrug of her shoulder at that, "it's probably getting a bit late...and we seem to have an idea of what might come next. Perhaps we should head off and prepare ourselves this evening?""

[Yoko]

"I've still gotta find the Captain, so I'll do that and.. yea," she gave her a nod, a smile. "Hey, uh.. glad you keep proving me right, eh?" she smirked, leaning off where she was resting and stepped out a few to give the room to leave for herself.

Turning on her heel a bit to face toward Yue again, "Good to be getting something good done, eh?"

[Yue]

"Huh?" Yue said at first with her brows raised before she understood what she meant, giving her a small shrug as she glanced off, "well, you haven't known me for that long but yeah, it's good to do something, that's for sure. I'm in the wrong place if I was only here to mop the floor and pick up after chores at the inn."

She let out a small sigh and gave another shrug of her shoulder, "anyway, I'll see you around, Yoko-san."

With that, she made her leave off the ship..

[Yoko]

Yoko watched her a bit as she went, then turned toward what came next in this long road of twists and turns.

/Scene
