Day 4, EE - Holmes Time (open)

[Kitsuki Naida]

As the sun set, Naida leaned against the window to her and Tanaka's room at the inn, looking out at the sunset. Naida had been meditating on her futon, and now she needed her thinking pipe and thinking hat. There was a mystery afoot, and she was a Kitsuki. Maybe not a proper Kitsuki of course, but her mind was sharp enough. Maybe there was a clue in the spirits she had met?

[Dapper Dog]

There is knock at her door, and a an old woman's voice called, "Samurai-sama, dinner is ready."

[Kitsuki Naida]

"Thank you."

Blowing some smoke out the window she stands up straight before turning around and opening the door to the room.

[Dapper Dog]

Peasant is there with some food across the hall with the door open is another ronin in a room by himself seated and eating rice. He said, "Good evening, Kitsuki-sama."

[Kitsuki Naida]

"Good evening, samurai-san."

Clearly a samurai, no one she recognized. Kind of scruffy looking.

"How has your day been?"

It was probing but polite, as much small talk while she got her food as curiosity as curiosity about the man. And what the strange day had been like for someone new.

[Dapper Dog]

“This one is Kojitsu, and his day has been calm. Though earlier we must have missed some excitement a girl was nearly crushed by a fallen beam here in the inn. Near thing, heard she got saved by a visiting ronin. Fortune’s be blessed that would have been sad,” he said as he ate.

“So perhaps today is a great day.”

[Kitsuki Naida]

"A beam? Something happen to cause such a thing?"

Naida was genuinely surprised and could not help a glance up at the ceiling.

[Dapper Dog]

"Guess it had rotted or something, I am not architect, sadly," he responded.

"Just what I heard, really."

[Kitsuki Naida]

"Still, I suppose, as concerning as the thought of the roof falling is, you did point out the silver lining of heroics preventing any consequences from it. Do you know who the girl who was saved is?"

Now she was in gossip mode, too interested to worry much about food.

[Dapper Dog]

"Jun, she works here, the pretty one every says," he said chuckling. "Her aunt runs the place, fierce woman even for a peasant."

[Kitsuki Naida]

"Ah, a worker. Doubly lucky then. Hopefully that ronin won't have to pay for room or food for the rest of their stay, neh?"

[Dapper Dog]

"One can hope, Kitsuki-sama," he said chuckling.

"Are you here for the wedding?"

[Kitsuki Naida]

"I am. To help celebrate and send my lord's well wishes to the union. I'll confess I did not get the chance to talk to bride nor groom, but they both seem like excellent people."

[Dapper Dog]

Kojitsu nodded, “Hida Yoji is a Crab of honor and strength, never met him personally but he is a good if quiet man. The Crane I expect to be of good breeding. Not that I know many Crane,” he said apologetically.

“I spend my days in training, mostly.”

[Kitsuki Naida]

"You are here for the wedding as well then?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Not really, I was here before I knew that was happening," he responded.

"I try to keep a low profile, which sounds much more suspect than it really is."

[Kitsuki Naida]

Naida shook her head, "Often a good idea for someone traveling a lot. I tend to try to keep my mouth shut if all possible if staying in a new place."

She glances back toward the food before taking a drag from her pipe.

"Suppose I should put this out before dinner."

[Dapper Dog]

"Have you seen many places, Kitsuki-sama?" he asked.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

Hifumi didn't expect the inn to feed Dango, so she'd gone out to find some fruit he'd like. Returning, she passed the two other samurai.

"Good evening, mina-san."

[Kitsuki Naida]

"I have traveled from the mountains of regret to Ryoko Owari, Otosan Uchi to the Khol Wall. Mostly up north, I will admit, apart from my time in Scorpion lands. I do not like to be one place too long, and my lord endulges me this in my duties."

Hifumi didn't expect the inn to feed Dango, so she'd gone out to find some fruit he'd like. Returning, she passed the two other samurai.

"Good evening, mina-san."

"Oh, good evening, samurai-san."

Naida had not seen that mon before. How odd.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"Another traveler." she smiled, then bowed. "I am Fuzake Hifumi. I apologize for interrupting the two of you."

[Kitsuki Naida]

"Fuzake.. A Monkey? Ah. This one is Kitsuki Naida, and my compatriot is... You know, we never really introduced ourselves."

She looks at her fellow traveler curiously.

[Dapper Dog]

"Just Kojitsu," he said warmly. He was sure he said it before but he wasn't going to question the woman over so minor a thing.

"Just eating rice and sharing good company, Fuzake-sama."

[Fuzake Hifumi]

"That is a good thing on a day like today." she nodded appreciatively.

[Dapper Dog]

"Hai, so what brings the Monkey clan to the lands of the Crab?" he sked.
