[Daidoji Kio]

The young girl is sitting in her room training with a toy sword, her food untouched. She frowned upon seeing them and said, “What do you want?”

[Otomo Saisei]

"Good morning, Daidoji-san. I see Inari-kami has been bountiful. I hope her blessings continue to be as such." He provides a bow with a smile, "I reminded myself of something I understand might be very useful for young warriors to hone their skills. Would Daidoji-san have some time to devote to this one's humble intentions?"

[Daidoji Kio]

"Sure," she said with a bow.

[Otomo Saisei]

The young man sits in seiza in front of her –– potentially arriving to her own height –– and produces a small wrapping with a rectangular item inside. He offers a bow and also offers the item with both hands, saying, "Hearing about your great skills and bright future ahead as a leader, this humble one would like to offer wise words for the leading samurai of this Empire."

He gently unfolds the wrapping to show the cover of a pillow book entitled The Leadership.

[Daidoji Kio]

Kio narrowed her eyes and said, "It's real bright but it seems like you might need this book more than me, Otomo-sama. So no, I refuse."

[Otomo Saisei]

He nods, "Indeed, I do need this book. In fact, I've read it several times I sort of have it recorded in my memory. See, this was a gift given to my late great-great-great-grandfather's by the Lion Champion himself at the time. My ancestor was somewhat a revered commander of many Imperial Legions. It has all his annotations here. I believe this would do well in the hands of someone much more fit to lead an army than myself."

He offers again.

[Daidoji Kio]

"What that's cool," she said looking at the book. "But then if I have it, then what will you read? That seems rude and Auntie says never be rude, so I have to refuse."

[Otomo Saisei]

He smiles, takes a look at Auntie, and nods. Back to Kio, he offers for the last time, "I will read something that Daidoji-san's dear Auntie so suggests, perhaps. I am sure the Daidoji have much to teach me about courage, bravery and altruism. Please, accept the honorable words of Akodo-kami."

[Daidoji Kio]

"Yes... I mean of course," and she accepts with both hands and a bow.

[Otomo Saisei]

"I am honored, Daidoji-san." He bows back and lifts himself up. "So, remember we talked about a spar. When do you feel like training –– perhaps when Doji Kintaro-sama is around so he can provide us some pointers?"

[Daidoji Kio]

“I would say tomorrow but I don’t think tomorrow is going to be tomorrow,” she said looking at the book.

“Not until we get rid of Hitomi, she’s a real bitch.”

[Daidoji Yushoko]

“Language, Kio-chan, you are not a Crab ruffian, you are a lady of the Crane,” Yushoko responded.

[Otomo Saisei]

He tilts his head, some odd feelings running through his mind, "Who's Hitomi?"

"No one, just someone she made up to blame on all her troubles on," Yushoko added.

[Daidoji Kio]

"She's real, she's a ghost that is trying to hurt people. But no one seems to remember it happening!" Kio responded.

[Otomo Saisei]

Saisei nods to both their comments, and honorably keeping his promise to get rid of the curse, goes slightly against protocol, trying to give Kio a bit more credit, "So Hitomi is the name of ghost. It makes sense."

Yet, it might have not been enough to convince the well trained Yushoko.

[Daidoji Yushoko]

"Do not humor these fantasies, Otomo-san, they are beneath us," she responded.

[Otomo Saisei]

He coughs a bit. Pushing it too much could backfire. With a nod, he agrees. Then, he comments to Kio, "Hai. It is important to respect our elders, and defer to hierarchy. In any case, perhaps we could chat more after a spar. Tomorrow, maybe?"

[Daidoji Kio]

Kio groaned and said, "Sure." At least she had a new book to read for now.

[Otomo Saisei]

"Good. It is settled." He smirks and moves his attention back to Yushoko. The Otomo stays silent for a moment and then compliments, "She's a diligent student. Something to be proud of. I hear Daidoji-sama's future husband has such traits, too."

[Daidoji Yushoko]

"I pray he is trainable," she said making her way out of the room.

[Otomo Saisei]

Saisei provides a courteous laugh and reaffirms, "He is a calm Hida, from what I could observe. Quite a rarity. Since one of his passions is his dog, I believe he would be open to the fact of being, well, trained."

[Daidoji Yushoko]

"We shall see how malleable he truly is in the coming weeks," she responded.

[Otomo Saisei]

"The Daidoji know well about steel in character. I am sure Daidoji-sama will know how to hammer it into proper shape." He jokes a bit, stealing a side glance, and moves on.

[Daidoji Yushoko]

She raised her fan and gave him a polite chuckle and then said, "You have provided good humor and company, Otomo-san. It has eased my anxieties of the moment."
