Code Orange (Day 4 Mid Morning)

The strange happenign of the mornign had the Captain worried, I mean in some ways it was a relief, another member of his crew hadn't gone missing. Just the same one. Not that such made it much better. Seeing Yoko beat feet off the ship like there was an emergency didn't help things much either.

Still he needed to talk, and see which members of his crew might recognize something was off. Alerting everyone wouldn't do though. So he'd only invitied the closest members to his cabin.

Koemi scratched at her throat. "Something tells me that the Scorpion wouldn't do something like this to him," she said. "It's a bit too bold." Clasping her hands together once again, she trembled in her boots. "It must be the sea upset at us. Maybe we weren't meant to stay in this port for so long."

Meiko sits on the captain’s futon... because damn it she was going to get a futon by hook or by crook.

"Apparently we lost a crewmate last night," Koemi reminded her. She crossed her arms. "It really wouldn't be like him to leave his post like that."

Meiko nods worriedly with extremely vigorous side eye to the captain.

“Do you think captain-sama and I should go report that to the crab magistrate?”

"Why wouldn't we report it to him?" Koemi narrowed her eyes in thought. "Unless we expect that the Crab are involved? Did I miss some piece of evidence suggesting that?"

Shouji glanced between the two others in his room. Apparently Meiko at least at least thought something was wrong.

"We can attend to that later Meiko. Perhaps in the mean time we search the deck and see if we find any physical proof of what might happened?"

He rose a hand and offered the Moshi a understanding smile. "But we need to try." The Captain replied calmly.

"While we do so, why don't you see if the Kaminare as helpful as they were the last time I had you call them."

The Captain leaned close to the Moshi before she left. "Avoid saying words like again. We don't wish to overly stress the crew."

Maybe he would notice something.

Koemi scratched the back of her head. "And I thought I was paranoid. Did she already check earlier or something?" She glanced at the captain and then shrugged. "Hopefully she can get to the bottom of this. I'm still voting that the waters are angry at us for some reason."

"Minari would be the best to consult about that." Shouji replied to Koemi with an awkward smile. "Though I don't think that's whats happening."

He glanced towards the sea. "If it was the sea that was angry with us there would be other signs i think. No I think this is something more to do with the village itseld." He conceded after a moment.

Everything seems in order nothing out of place, but there is a feeling of being watched.

Meanwhile Meiko does as she's asked and heads to the side of the boat to speak to the water kami.

This time however, after going through the ceremony, her first question is different
"Water spirit....have you and I already spoken once before?"

Meiko jumps up and sprints around the boat looking for the captain, her feet thumping rapidly on the deck.

He wasn't hard to find, having just finished his inspection of the railing. Whatever it was that was out there it certainly seemed nearby.

Repressing the urge to shudder he glanced towards Meiko as she ran up to him.

"Anything new?"

"I talked to the kami and they said we definitely already spoke! They even knew the question I asked them! Everything is wrong captain-sama!"

"I know." Shouji replied quietly so his voice wouldn't carry. "It's almost like we are reliving yesterday." He added after a moment.

"Some of the sailors mentioned preparing for tonight's party before I summoned all of you."
