[Ikoma Ren]

Ren blinks and then coughs to hide a sputter. He wasnot expecting the authorities to encourage him, but this was an opportunity that he simply couldn't avoid.

"Yes, ideally Oturi's army would be the model. That was my aim in starting small: to weed out those who do not fit, establish a high standard, and then have that attract legitimate attention."

Ren looks over at Sutorenja. What exactly had happened?

"I have already approached Sutorenja-san about the idea. What about you Tomo?" He winks at Yoko, hoping the woman remembers the slip of the tongue from the other night.

[Kakita Konohamaru]

"Understand there is no free pass. If this ronin group is formed, it's primary objective will be protecting the wedding. Most clans have eyes on it, so attention will come forthright."

[Ikoma Ren]

"Of course. If we would have license to work in such a way, it would be an Honor to protect the wedding. I would consider it part of my own Duty to do so, and forming for so noble a purpose would be exactly what I envisioned." Ren bows. "I already have staked my reputation on Sutorenja-san, though I now consider that a sucker bet. I believe a similar standard ought to apply to all I manage to recruit"

[Yoko]

"Tomo," she gave a snort, chuckling as she shook her head. "I'm afraid it doesn't look like it'd be much of a band, but I do prefer helping to hurting, eh? As it stands the Mantis have given me lodging and some pay to do just that," she shrugged.

"Good to get paid for the work you want to do, eh?"

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren chuckles. "There's a proverb I grew up with: "How does a Lion eat a whale? One bite at a time." Didn't exactly make Leadership, but the points stands. We pick up members one at a time. You have to start somewhere."

[Yoko]

"I'll talk to mom, see what she thinks, eh? Won't.. be for a while though, Ikoma-sama. If you're content with that?"

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren bites back an immediate reply.

How long is a while?

"That is understandable. However, if what Magistrate-sama is saying about protecting the wedding, I think we are somewhat limited on that timeline." Ren does his best to offer an encouraging smile. "I'll be around, so let me know"

[Fuzake Hifumi]

Hifumi walked by with Dango clinging to her back. She sat down in the sand a short distance away and took out a bundle of sticks.

[Yoko]

"For you and yours, sure-" she said, shrugging, "but like I said, right now I'm already hired on by the Mantis toward that angle so I wouldn't be too concerned with any need going missed, eh?" she glanced over at the new person joining them here this night, and seeing a mon even if she didn't know which one, she just shrugged and looked back to Ren.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

She had heard about the meeting and had wanted to check on Sutorenja. But, whatever they were discussing was none of her business. She left them to whatever their meeting was,, as she began the reading.

Hifumi divided the yarrow sticks and began counting...

Ren shares a look with Yoko and then then the Monkey. "Fuzake-san, I wouldn't have guessed you'd be here. I don't suppose you have any interest in taking off your mon to become a Ronin, would you?" The Lion remarks drily

[Dapper Dog]

She had heard about the meeting and had wanted to check on Sutorenja. But, whatever they were discussing was none of her business. She left them to whatever their meeting was,, as she began the reading.

The sticks say that she will walk the same road many times.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

It was an odd reading, vague yet direct. Hifumi considered doing it again, but she doubted she would gain any further insight.

Ren shares a look with Yoko and then then the Monkey. "Fuzake-san, I wouldn't have guessed you'd be here. I don't suppose you have any interest in taking off your mon to become a Ronin, would you?" The Lion remarks drily

Several moments passed before she looked up to Ren. "Fate guides me to many unexpected places, Ikoma-san. So far, however, it has not separated me from my family by more than distance. My apologies, for the intrusion. I had hoped my presence would not disturb you."
