[Bayushi Ijihime]

She waited to see Amika's reply.

[Amika]

Well this was going out of control. Technically it was never under her control to start with. Now threats of dueling and swords were being issued.

'' I-uh...'' She didn't know what to say at first. '' There's no need to apologize Asahina-sama. While this one does know how to write and read, indeed there are many other ronin that don't know how to do so. Surely you didn't said those words with mal intent. It was just a confusion out of a legitimate situation that does exist among people like me.'' She tries to difuse the situation, at least she wants to.

'' Bayushi-sama is kind and compassionate. Compassion that she surely has learned or got inspired by Shinjo-no-kami.'' She adds. '' Her passion over this issue is the mark of a kind soul that would protect people both high and low...''

'' Then again, there's nothing to apologize for Asahina-sama, in fact this one should apologize to you for not making it clear that i knew how to write and read in the first place. Please accept my apologies for causing confusion...'' She bowed to the Crane, quite low.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"I do accept your apologies, Amika." He says in a nod. She was starting to get nervous, so the Bayushi's intent of making them astray from one another was going right. He knew not why she wanted such, but was a plan he had to intervene on. If not for the Crane, for the sake of his own ego. "Now we had the core question of our issue resolved peacefully, I am to take my leave. Walk under the path of Nio-shiryo, both of you." He gives a slight nod to the ronin before bowing to the Scorpion.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"Do return to see the finished work, Asahina-san, this one is eager to hear your impressions," she said with a smile.

[Amika]

Amika bowed towards the Asahina, again, as he decided that it was his moment to leave. '' May Amaterasu's-no-kami shining light guide you, Asahina-sama'' She adds.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"Did you enjoy your first lesson of being a true artist?" she asked.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He nodded towards the rōnin. "May Doji-no-kami guide your art all the same. And know I did, Bayushi-san. One's first impression of the Academy is always unforgettable."
Then, he turns out and /exits. Whatever he wanted to see there, he already did.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"My question was meant for you, my dear," she said with a smirk.

[Amika]

'' Oh, hmmm....'' Amika turns towards the woman. She was indeed speaking to her, not to the Asahina. '' This one somewhat understands what Bayushi-sama was telling me about being an artist...'' She nods, though she was still not confident in that type of approach. '' I think that Asahina-sama indeed was offended by my art, although that could be just be that he was somewhat offended by my person more than anything i did or said...'' She shrughs

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"He thought you were a simpleton who could not read," she said calmly. "Is that who you are?"

[Amika]

'' This one is not, Bayushi-sama.'' She said. Indeed she was not a simpleton.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"Then who are you, if not a simpleton?" she asked.

[Amika]

'' Amika, a ronin painter, Bayushi-sama ...'' She replied, somewhat not sure the why of the Scorpion's question. The wolf was still baffled by the fact that the Scorpion said that she wanted to make Amika paint in front of the Daughter of Heavens. She was not sure if the Scorpion was lying in order to attack the Asahina or if she was telling the truth.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"Do you wish to die an unknown or as an artisan of worth?" she offered.

[Amika]

'' One day, as an artist of worth, this one thinks...'' She said to her.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"How will you get there, painting murals in backwater towns, or taking an opportunity to be seen among the highest of society?" she said calmly.

[Amika]

'' Well, if i'm being sincere, Bayushi-sama, while i do enjoy this type of artistic intervention and certainly it will offer some benefits to someone like me...'' She was refering to the fact that she can stay in the inn because of the mural. '' This one also was thinking in attracting people of importance through her art.''

'' The inn, certainly was a place where such attention could be acquired since many samurai from different clans come and go. And although this mural is for a heimin, this one thought that such place could serve a purpose beyond just as a place for this one to stay.'' She said to her, explaining her reasoning, which could be true. After all it has been one day and two samurai from different clans already had seen what she was doing and talked about it. Or almost dueled about it more accurately.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"The Crane will seek to bury you, make you conform. Diminish you. But I... I want you to be who you are, and together we can be a most daring pair," she offered.

"You wonder if my offer was true, it is. If you have the Courage to seize it."

[Amika]

'' This one is honored by the faith ad trust that Bayushi-sama has given to a person like me, i'm really grateful about it.'' She told her and bow. '' But this one will feel terrible if Bayushi-sama's reputation would be hurt by my actions.'' She adds.

'' So if you allow me a period of trial so that you, Bayushi-sama, is completely certain that this one will not fail you, then this one will gladly do what you offer me. This one already is working on this mural, and i'm also doing another work for another person.'' She adds, refering to the work for Bayushi Shitoru.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"I am open to trial under one condition, no work for the Crane," she responded.

[Amika]

Well, that was a somewhat harsh condition. It would make her be involved in a Crane Scorpion conflict that she didn't want to be part of, but the promises of doing art in front of the Empress was tempting. Really tempting.

'' Hmm.'' She thought for a moment. '' Alright. This one will do as you say.'' She said with a bow.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"I am pleased we could find an understanding," she slipped a hand into her obi and then placed on the counter 3 koku coins.

"My husband's wealth was considerable, not that a samurai should be concerned of such things. But as your patron, it would not due if you went hungry."

[Amika]

'' This one is honored by your kindness, Bayushi sama..'' She said as she bowed quite low. Amika didn't went towards the koku, not yet, since it was not appropiate to manipulate money, even for a ronin. Or at least for a ronin in front of another clan samurai.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"I look forward to completion, tomorrow we sup dinner with a friend, be presentable. I trust you to know what that means," she said sweetly.

"In the morning we begin your education, I am staying at the castle. I do not like being kept waiting. Is there anything else you need, dear?"

[Amika]

'' This one doesn't need anything else, Bayushi-sama...'' She said to her respectfully. '' This one will be there, Bayushi-sama. I will not dissapoint you.'' She adds.
