The Golden Rule (D2, MM)

[Daidoji Kaneko]

Kaneko was up earlier than most that morning... after she fulfilled her obligatory Kuni-check, she headed off to the docks. It was the best time to see what the fishermen had brought in and were preparing for sale. She walked about the docks, inspecting the different preparations taking place by each of the vendors. In her head she seemed to be calculating something as she paused at each stall. There appeared to be a bit more activity in preparation for the festivals later in in the day.

Koemi didn't seem to appreciate the Kuni's check, though her face was always that sort of way. She sauntered along the docks, her eyes also to the vendors. While she was not particularly interested in any purchases, she needed some way to pass the time. Otherwise it'd be thinking about taint and misfortune all the time.

Her path took her to stopping beside Kaneko by pure happenstance, at least on her part. "Good morning, Daidoji-sama," she said, giving a polite bow before returning to the stall's contents. It seemed rather mundane so she looked back to the Crane. "You come here often?" Awkward line, but it was to the point.

Kaneko turned to the woman with a gentle ease, "As often as time would permit. I enjoy the docks. The ebb and flow of people hustling about."

She offered a polite bow, "Daidoji Kaneko of the Hiramichi family. I don't believe we have had the pleasure of meeting." She gestured toward the bay and the large kobune anchored out there. "Would you happen to be a member of one of those kobune's crew by chance?"

[Yoritomo Koemi]

"No, I don't think we've met at all," Koemi said. "I'm Yoritomo Koemi, rigger aboard that same ship you're looking at." She looked at with loving affection, perhaps a bit possessive.

"Hiramichi though? Interesting. I've only heard a little about them."

[Daidoji Kaneko]

She nodded, "Not a family of great renown. But not unknown to others within your clan."

She paused, "Have you ever ported in Mura Sabishii Toshi?"

[Yoritomo Koemi]

"Not personally, though I believe The Sea Fox may have in the past." Koemi looked back at the vessel. "I've only been sailing with her in recent times. I used to be in a patrol vessel."
