Whistles the Wind (Day 0 Late Evening.)

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

"Minari-sama, do you want to go after Yoko and Meiko-sama? I've got a good bet in mind.." there was a mischievous gleam in his eye as he drank the next cup in one go.

"Go, go Meiko-sama! THE FORTUNES ARE WITH YOU!" His excitement was infectious! Or terrifying. One of the other.

[Moshi Minari]

"Minari-sama, do you want to go after Yoko and Meiko-sama? I've got a good bet in mind.." there was a mischievous gleam in his eye as he drank the next cup in one go.

"Go, go Meiko-sama! THE FORTUNES ARE WITH YOU!" His excitement was infectious! Or terrifying. One of the other.

"Sure sure..." she felt confident in her own luck and agreed, but she watched the rolls between Meiko and Yoko with great interest. "Come on, Yoko... you can do it."

It was only fair to cheer for the ronin.

[Yoko]

Watching Meiko's dice roll out, Yoko glanced to the Captain with the assumption he'd be making note, and then collected up the dice when he was done. Between the two cheering, she smiled big at both but then gave a sort of lean with her shoulder toward Minari. Nodding, she started shaking her hand with the dice and gave in her roll.

Leaning forward with the roll she lifted out of her seat slightly to get a look as the dice would come to a stop.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"It seems Yoko is our winner." Shouji announced as the dice results came up. Which meant a load of laundry for Meiko and deck to clean for him.

Luck was with team Yoko, which included Minari today. Damn but was Tetsuo a bad luck charm.

[Otomo Yusuke]

"Yoko-san, such a good roll should be rewarded. When we arrive I have a bottle of fine sake with your name on it," he said with a smile.

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

"So, Minari-sama, if you win, I'll do whatever you want until we get to port. But, if I win" He smiled like a seadevil! "No smoking until we get arrive, and a day after. Do you take the bet?"

He was confident! Surely Meiko's luck ran out just in time for Tetsuo's to pick up! That is how things work, right?

[Moshi Minari]

Minari scowled at first as she took a long and thoughtful drag from her pipe. Then the smoke was slowly exhaled in Tetsuo's direction.

"So I get to boss you 'round more than I already do? I suppose that's interesting enough." That she picked up the dice was indication enough that she was accepting the bet. "You know Osano-wo favors me, Last Mate, so luck is often on my side..."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

No smoking from Minari? Well, that would be an amusing thing. So despite the loss the Captain perked up a bit. Still it'd probably be inappropriate for him to pick a side here.

So for the moment he refrained.

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

"Ha! I was born in a storm, Minari-sempai, you don't scare me!" Too much. He blew the smoke back as much as he could.

"It's on!"

He threw the dice....and it was...not terrible? He looked up at her hopefully, maybe she'll have an even worse outcome!

[Moshi Minari]

"Doesn't mean you're born lucky, kid." Dice was scooped up, ready for her toss. As she grinned, the dice rattled in the cup. Yes, it felt right now, she liked the sound of the dice now.

Cup down and the dice came to a standstill. Minari lifted the cup away to read the result. 3 points more than Tetsuo. "Aha, I knew it. Should know better than to gamble with me by now, Tetsuo."

[Yoko]

"Yoko-san, such a good roll should be rewarded. When we arrive I have a bottle of fine sake with your name on it," he said with a smile.

When she was declared the winner, she raised a fist and gave it a shake, "Yea!" she laughed, smiling still as she nodded to Meiko. "Was a good roll, Moshi-sama," she nodded happily before glancing over, hearing her name from the Otomo. "Otomo-sama, you're really set on becoming my favorite person aren't you?" she suggested and laughed, holding her stomach a little.

Glancing over at the others preparing for the game she shifted a hand onto the bottle beside her, but didn't quite grab it yet.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"You're luck will likely run thin one of these days, Minari." The Captain replied with a soft chuckle. Even if it wasn't today.

He picked up one of the bottles and after giving it a shake to check how full it was began making refills. "I suppose it's best you get to giving Tetsuo orders though. You've only got a few hours to make good on what he owes ya."

"Unless you two intend to stay up all night."

[Yoritomo Tetsuo]

Tetsuo looked up (comparetively) to his navigator. "Ha, I will defeat you one day Minari-sama!" He shook his fists. "Overcoming you will be sweeter than having my own fleet. Now, what'll it be? Laundry? Cleaning? Rope untangling?"

[Yoritomo Koemi]

Koemi watched the proceedings like a prowling panther. She was still displeased, her free hand clenching into a fist every now and then.

"Overcoming another in dice is a recipe for disaster," she warned the younger Yoritomo. "Such is the nature of pure chance."

[Moshi Meiko]

Meiko looks devastated when the dice came out in Yoko's favour, now the captain would be forced to clean the deck because of her failure!
"I'm so sorry Captain-sama, I'll roll better next time!"
She does get over it in a few moments, she'd do the laundry extra well to prove herself! And Yoko was nice, you should always be nice to wavepeople because often nice is all they have.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

" i know you will Meiko." Shouji replied with a chuckle. "You just need to figure out your next wager and when you're going to make it." It could be tonight, or some other night who knew for certain.

Glancing towards Koemi he offered the woman a smile. "There is some wisdom there certainly. It's why I try to keep what gambling i do friendly and fun."

[Moshi Minari]

Tetsuo looked up (comparetively) to his navigator. "Ha, I will defeat you one day Minari-sama!" He shook his fists. "Overcoming you will be sweeter than having my own fleet. Now, what'll it be? Laundry? Cleaning? Rope untangling?"

"Boy, learn to watch your mouth before thinking you'll have a fleet of your own," she, somewhat-affectionaly (???), smacked Tetsuo in the back of his head, then blew another waft of smoke in his face. Victorious malice.

"You can start by making sure everyone's got drink in their cups, eh? And tomorrow morning I'll have you checking all the sails for tears and holes."

[Yoko]

Taking up the bottle in her hand she glanced over to Minari with a cocky grin, "Guess luck is with you in bets and rolling, Moshi-sama," she laughed from her belly. Putting the bottle to her lips she took a generous sip of her drink.

"Do we have another game, or maybe we have some fun stories to share?" she suggested with a glance around to everyone, pleased as could be.

[Moshi Minari]

"Osano-wo-kami smiles on his children, Yoko-san," the Moshi smirked confidently.

"Aaah," the vocals were drawn out in an amused tone, "First Mate should share some of his stories. He's got the good ones."

"But if we have more wagers," her fingers deftly turned the kiseru in her hand, "I wouldn't mind taking a shot at the young captain - if he's up for it, that is."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Want me doing more then just cleaning the deck then?" Shouji asked with a wry smile. "I suppose there is no harm in hearing what you have in mind at least Minari."

He took a sip from his cup. "I should probably test my own luck ammeter all, right?"

[Moshi Minari]

"Hmmm..." she swirled the last remains of shochu in her cup around, downed it in one gulp, then held out the cup for her newly-acquired servant Tetsuo to refill.

"You're too often soft, captain!" Minari exclaimed with a laugh. "You should try to show that burly Mantis side more! If I win this round of dice, you'll put on a show for the Crab - show 'em that we're as tough and burly as they are, for the welcome feast with the Crab. No fancy silk robes and pretty trinkets," her hand waved dismissively at those things, making the sweet smoke from her pipe scatter more. "But a proper rough, burly, fearsome Mantis captain."

[Yoritomo Koemi]

"Moshi Minari-sama has a point. You represent all of us, Captain," Koemi said with a thumbs up. "That being said, perhaps a mix would be good? Show your strength but be refined within it as well."

She shook her arms, giving her jewelry a bit of a jingle. "We need to impress the Crane too. Do they appreciate the passage we have given them?"

[Moshi Meiko]

Meiko looks horrified at all the suggestions but clearly doesn't feel brave enough to say anything.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

He chuckled at that and shook his head. "Next you're going to tell me I need to do some wenching Minari. But alright. I can do something like that, may even toss in a bit of flirting too." Not that he was terribly good at it.

"Koemi makes a point though, and that will be my counter. Should I win you'll be the picture of feminine grace for our Crane friends. Lipstick, perfume and something that makes you look demure." The Captain's lips curled into a smirk. "Do we have a deal?"

[Moshi Minari]

Minari grimaced, clearly disliking that loss as much as being potentially robbed of her pipe. But... it was a fair deal. And she had started it. Luck was still with her, right?

"Unh, you're on, captain." The dice were scooped up in the cup again and passed to the young Tsuruchi. "Let's see who luck favors then..."
