Yue, Sniper Wolf*

*Sniper Wolf is actually not the inspiration or influence for the character, it just seemed like a cool title to use.

I haven't been very active this game unfortunately but I did enjoy the few scenes that I had. Yue is a rather closed book in character but I'm more than willing to answer any questions people might have about her.

Yue was precious.

What was the inspiration or influence for Yue? Also, any fun backstory/background stuff that went into her character you'd like to share?

Will we see Yue again (provided, of course, there's another game in this world)?

I liked Yue, and pretty much all of the ronin, I really wanted to stress the life of ronin versus clan samurai in this game.

Hopefully that came through.

I suppose the backstory disclosure first. Yue isn't a real ronin. She's really a Shosuro ninja, written out of the Clan so that she could roam the world as a ronin in deep cover. Her infiltration isn't perfect, as there are a few things that still bother her like propriety as someone pointed out and she'll never shake that bit of Scorpion superstition but that might be easier to hide as a simple ronin.

While she was undercover, she had no mission other than integrate and continue entrenching herself in her role. Perhaps one day she'll return home, miraculously surviving her supposed death or she'll find herself a ronin forever, always waiting. Or she'll be activated as a sleeper agent, asset or assassin.

I suppose the influence was perhaps were a few crime/military thrillers (okay, maybe like two). She ended up being less rigid and dry than I initially thought she would be, although still lacking much in humour.

I'm not going to close the door entirely but I would say that it's unlikely she will be reprized. Being a lowly ronin is admittedly tough. I suppose I could have asserted myself more into places and scenes despite my rank but I wouldn't feel quite right considering that she's supposed to be a lowly ronin with little court skills.

Thank you! There was more ronin stuff than I thought that I would be in this game, especially when they are considered often an afterthought in most games. So, yes, it did come through. I probably wasn't active enough to tough it out much but certainly appreciating that narrative happening in the background of the game.

Ronin stuff was stellar, tacking on my voice there.

That Yoko and Yue were both originally Scorpion is too amusing to me. I love it.
