Wedding at Fire Shrimp Village an L5R PbP

Saisei arrives at the floating embassies of the Mantis asking to speak with the Captain of one of the ships.

A familiar face would greet him from the de k of the Sea Fox, Shouji look down at whoever it was that wished to meet him. "Otomo-san." He called down to the other man.

"Why don't you come on board."

"Tsuruchi-sama!" He says from the pier and bows, saying, "Thank you for the invitation."

He enters and moves to greet the captain once more with another, deeper bow, "Good day to the Captain. I hope Inari-kami has been kind."

Shouji returned the bow as the Otomo made his way onto the deck. "Always, Otomo-san." The Captain offered with an easy smile.

"I trust you can say the same?"

"Inari-kami and the Crab repeat their bountiful hospitality each same day." He says, noticing how Shouji would react.

"Well that is to be expected isn't it? The only thing that changes at times are what we change ourselves." Shouji replied a slight smirk on his lips as he glanced towards the sky.

"Or don't."

He agrees with a nod, and says, "Speaking of which, I would like to check on something that might provide some change, of course, if Tsuruchi-sama so permit. Could I perform some rehearsing here at our Captain's ship?"

The Otomo says, "I would need some access to move around."

That was an odd request, but Shouji jhad no reason not to grant it. "I see no problem with that Otomo-san. As long as you keep out of the crews way while they are working."

"I would also suggest you stay out of the hold. It's not exactly the safest of places."

He nods, but raises a hand on the last topic, "Forgive me, Tsuruchi-sama, but there's another special request, if I may be so bold: the rehearsal requires me to potentially jump into the sea. In this case, I would ask for Tsuruchi-sama's aid, just in case."

He eyed the Imperial for a few moments. "I can give you aide if that is what is needed Otomo-san."

"I assume I don't need to ask if you can swim?" He moved towards the railing and gestured towards the rolling water. "Especially in such unpleasant conditions?"

He sucks his teeth. confessing, "I can hold my breath for a very long time, yet I am kind of not so fast."

He nodded at that, holding your breath for a long time didn't really help with not drowning.

Looking around the ship he spotted one in the distance. "Koemi!" He called, his voice easily carrying across the deck.

Koemi made her way over, scratching the back of her head. "Huh? We have a guest?" She gave polite bows to both of them. "What's going on?"

"Ah!." He greeted the young woman with a warm smile and a bow. "Otomo-san, has come by to ask if he can practice a preformance of some type here." The Captain explained. "Which may have him jumping into the ocean at some point. I was wondering of you could keep an eye on him, help him out a bit if needed too. In case the waters are worse then they look?"

Koemi made her way over, scratching the back of her head. "Huh? We have a guest?" She gave polite bows to both of them. "What's going on?"

Saisei bows back to Koemi, reading mons and greeting, "I hope Inari-kami has been kind, Yoritomo-san."

"I would be most thankful." He bows again.

"What sort of performance requires that?" Koemi looked towards the land. "Is there no pond or something?"

She glanced over at Shouji. "Wouldn't the waters be dangerous with all the, well, clothes?" Wink wink.

"Eto..."

He looks to himself and takes a deep breath. "It has to be in a ship, and then I understand, the sea itself."

With a frown, he tilts his head to ask, "Just the kimono is fine, right?"

"I wouldn't trust fine silk to sea water. " The Captain replied. "But if it's only a layer of kimono it should be okay." He glanced at Koemi, was she trying to get into his pants.

After her failed attempt at communication with Shouji, Koemi blew the hair out of her face. She looked back to Saisei, all smiles, which was never a good thing coming from her. "I don't wear sleeves because it'll weigh me down," she explained, tapping her arms. Then she went down to tapping her legs. "And pants keep me from having flowing cloth."

The tour at the ship begins as his eyes follow her indications around the parts and curves. He coughs a bit and nods, looking to the ground afterwards. "I have two layers. Thanks for the pointers. I'll remove some soon. Is there a place I can do so and fold them?"

"You can use my cabin." The Captain offered. "Though no one is gonna care much if you just take a layer off out here either."

"Course if you want to borrow something light from me. Well I guess that could keep your clothing from getting ruined."

"I've been in fundoshi before for the festivities. I guess being shirtless shouldn't be a problem." He chuckles and bows in thanks, "I appreciate allowing me to use the cabin. I'll leave clothes there, then, and actually start the rehearsal from that same spot. It may lead me to the sea afterwards, though."

"I'll leave you to it then, Otomo-san." The Captain replied with a nod.

"Let Koemi know if you need anything." With that he moved to go about his own business. Leaving the Imperial in the care of his rigger.

The Otomo bows to him as he departs and waits for Koemi to take him into the cabin with a smile, unless she would not. This case, he would find it himself.

Koemi led the way, staying relatively quiet the whole time. "So what is this show for exactly?"
