Reporting Back [Day 4, LE]

[Yoko]

No luck out in the village tracking them down, which meant going to find them at the ronin meet. Only way forward that made sense. Which means she had to come back and find Ishi and the Captain again. Easy enough, knowing they'd have to be around her somewhere. Walking up the plank she took a quick look around getting a read on who was above deck.

[Yue]

Yue was on the ship, perhaps having made herself at home after the party on the beach. She already got the approval from the Mantis about helping out, or was that yesterday? Regardless of the agreement, she hadn't been on the ship yet and she took as this as an opportunity to invite herself. After all, she might need to find various ways she could leave this place.

[Yoko]

"Yue-san!" Yoko called, giving her a bit of a wave. Walking over Yoko grinned, stopping over near she was and putting her hand on her hip. "Good to see you on board, eh?" Yoko paused in that moment, raising a hand.

"Wait-" she waved the hand a little, "hold up, that means?" She gave her a little look over, "We talked about this last night, right?" she said and watched for the tell-tale signs of recognition.

[Yue]

Yue straightened from her investigation of the ship and gave Yoko a quick bow back to her wave, showing that she was not going anything suspicious here. "Good evening, Yoko-san...I guess I'm on board now, literally."

She raised a brow at the question, "I know we've talked about this with Yoritomo-sama last night but I don't think I've gotten so far as to getting on board the ship...Did this day seem familiar to you too?"

[Yoko]

Yoko chuckled at the first, and as Yue went on relief certainly washed over her, "Far too similar.. we're in, well, apparently very interesting times," she says, waving that off a little.

"Far as I know, Yue-san.. today's just about the weirdest day of my life, and one others have lived before. Which- I'm glad I ran into you, actually, I had a question that I think is pretty important to this whole mess, eh?"

[Yue]

"Interesting is the least of it," she grimaced, "I feel we should react more at what's happening or even overreact is the best course of action. I spoke to Moshi-sama earlier and she brought up the idea that this might have been happening for a while. Maybe we only realized this now, although yesterday felt like two days ago, I swear..."

Yue crossed her arms, "What do you wish to ask?"

[Yoko]

"I-" she gestured toward a place they could relax a bit more, and Yoko found her usual spot in sitting against the outer edge of the boat. Leaned up against it she crossed her arms and turned back to Yue. "Okay, so.. yesterday, which is today apparently, I found a woman at the well, a Crane far as I could tell. She had the armor of a Crane at least," she waved her hand and stopped the thought from carrying her too far away. "Anyway, she was prepared for battle and walked off outside of town, but when she got there she just.. vanished," she uncrossed her arms, bringing her hands together and separating them palm out in a little show.

"I'm- I'm starting to think it's a bit connected, eh? Then I got to thinking and remembered you mentioned something about a spirit at the inn the other day? So, if it's connected.. maybe.. could be good to hear more about it, eh?"

[Yue]

Yue followed Yoko's lead and went to her spot where they could further discuss what idea she had on her mind.

She gave her a big blink at the mention of the well, "What...a dead Crane that just happened to be at the bottom of a well and the same well that everyone had been drinking from it?!"

That sounded a bit gross and she resisted her urge to gag, keeping her mind on the question. "Yes...I didn't want to outright say it was a full-blown spirit but after the events of today, I think it was a ghost! A girl of some sort who was wet and dripping. She told me that I was it...but crushed the peasant who ran the inn, that was yesterday. I think I managed to prevent that from happening today."

[Yoko]

"I- I'm not sure if she was at the bottom of the well but.. maybe?" she shook her head, waving the thought off for the moment. "I met that girl, not the.. you know, spooky one, but the one at the inn. Seems.." she shook her head, "I'm glad you averted it today, eh? Anyway, I'm thinking on the same mind as you. This Crane woman I saw... that girl, somehow it's all gotta be connected. Just gotta figure out how."

[Yue]

"Hopefully, it'll be the last time I'll have to avert such a thing. I can't spend several days doing this and I might feel more tempted to put her out of her misery at some point. I don't know who or what I saw at the Inn. She didn't exactly look like a Crane, I would have thought that Cranes would have more graceful spirits. The water around could have meant she was related to the well or the ocean..." she said as she gazed out to the ocean before them.

She paused with another thought, "Hm, I did pass a well on the way to some local authorities. It's at least close to the inn."

[Yoko]

"Seems we have a chance to change things- make them better, while we're stuck like this, eh? Guessing folk are gonna be trying to get into the water again tonight, I plan to be there as many times as I need," she said, glancing off toward the boat in thought. Looking pensive for a moment she shook her head at what must have been a thought.

"Anyway, I saw the Crane woman sat by the well, and you found this girl by the well? Seems to me like we should check out the well. Not the weirdest thing a couple of ronin have done, eh?" she chuckled, it lacked energy. "Got rope if it comes to it.. but best see if there's anyone we know we can tag in, I'm guessing."

[Yue]

"There has to be a way to be smarter about this...like if we can prevent them from doing what they're doing, instead of trying to pick up after them night after night. Did you feel a bit tired today? What if we don't have the strength to do this forever? What if they're doing this until everyone goes in the water?" she thought out loud.

"Sorry, not by the well but the well is close to the inn and she appeared rather submerged," she gave a shrug of her shoulder, "I don't know many people here. There's a Hida...a Hiruma...who are sort of local. As for people we can involve, you seem to know most people around the ship. Maybe one of the Mantis know how to work with rope, even? Wells can be pretty deep."

[Yoko]

"I-" she shook her head, laughed. "Honestly?" she looked to Yue, caught her eye. There was a heaviness to Yoko's own as she shrugged and let her shoulders hang a little. "I'm already exhausted. Today.. so much happened today that if I told you half of it you wouldn't believe me. Even considering," she raised her hand, gave it a little wave, "all of this, eh?"

"I'm not sure but.. if it keeps going, as long as it keeps going, I will too. I'm working on figuring out as much as I can, help as much as I can, but, there are other things, I think, that I need to concern myself with more, or too, or.." she shook her head. "Things I might be better able to fix than whatever's been going on. Still, fixing this would put me into position to try and solve those, at least I think. Mom would respect the choice," she chuckles, "at least I hope she would. Might not approve of some of my other choices though," she chuckles a little more as she shakes her head dismissively.

[Yue]

"I've had a rather interesting day as well be I get the feeling that it's no where as interesting as your day," she said as she cast her a curious gaze, "We don't exactly have much to do while we're all aware of this? It hasn't been the most relaxing day either."

She gave her a look up and down. "You seem rather upstanding, Yoko-san. I can't imagine your mother disapproving you that much with how proudly you talked about her."

[Yoko]

"Mom," she corrected, or at least it sounded like she corrected as she glanced off into the distance a moment. Out toward the village Yoko watched something, or thought, maybe even both but it didn't last more than half a minute when she looked back. Looking back she continued, "But- well, yea you're right. Just knows that she admit it openly or I'll let it go to my head," she smirks, shaking her head. "Which she's right but- Anyway, thanks, I try to manage it best I can, eh? Got a samurai walking around out there that sacrificed more for me than I care to admit. So, we'll see."

[Yue]

Yue tilted her head slightly at the correction, perhaps thinking that this was a different person than they were talking about. However, it seemed one of the same to her, regardless. She gave a shake of her head and shrugged, "Well, Yoko-san, without her next to you, I'm sure that you would know best. That must be something. I've personally felt that it was just me, luck and the Fortunes being on the waves."

She shrugged, "So about this plan...how are we doing this? I guess nothing much we can do until tomorrow. There is a chance that we'll actually see tomorrow and this worry will be for almost nothing. Still, I don't think that well is going away, so it may still be worth looking at. But if it does, maybe you can catch my ghost sighting early afternoon..."

[Yoko]

"Not with everything else going on, no," she shook her head, shrugged a bit. "Tomorrow then, whether it's actually tomorrow or not. We can meet by the inn, and you say it happens in the early afternoon? I can be there. There's.. well, there will be something I want to do after, but it shouldn't impeded too much, eh?"

[Yue]

"I called over some Crab and they sent a Kuni to ward off the inn. I don't know if it'll do much to what's going on there, if it would stop this from happening again or will ultimately be for nothing if the ward wouldn't be there tomorrow..." she gave a shake of her head, "if some of our memories are constant, you'd think there would be some other constants that we could use to stash whatever we do. Moshi Meiko mentioned that the kami recall what's happening."

[Yoko]

"Strange," she said, she fished down at her side for the bottle but found nothing. "Oh- right," she shook her head. "Anyway, seems most things.. like, objects come back just as the rest, eh? Which seems impossible if it's only us or," she tapped her head, "all up in here, eh?"

[Yue]

"That just makes it hard to do anything then," she sighed softly with a shake of her head, "but I suppose we haven't really tried yet. It would be good to have a direct path of how to proceed with the day. What's this thing you're going to be doing later? Do you help with that?"

[Yoko]

"Well- yea, but the one that comes next no. After that though.. just like the day before I figure people are gonna be walking off into the water, eh? I'm intending on being there. Next thing.. well, it's important but it's about getting information into the hands of the right people, hmm?"

[Yue]

"Yes, I think people are still astounded to do anything yet...I'm sure it might be hard to pass on information unless we know everyone involved. It does feel that some people know, at least. I know that Moshi Meiko and Hiruma Sen are part of that group at least. Do you know of anyone else?"

[Yoko]

Yoko laid out her fist, palm turned up toward the sky and counted out with her fingers. "Ikeda Ishi, Ikoma Ren, Tsuruchi Shouji, Sutorenja," she paused, thought hard for a moment but then closed her hand. Looking to Yue and offering a meek smirk.

"Safe to say that most of the crew is probably aware, eh? Just- well, some might need to still be reminded."

[Yue]

That sounded pretty encouraging, even if she never met half of those people. Yue nodded soundly at the numbers, feeling more confident. "That sounds like more than enough people to get things done around here. I guess I just wonder what needs to be done, especially enough that this day needs to be repeated. I had wondered if this was someone else's doing...but how about our doing?"

[Yoko]

"Our doing?" she paused a moment, thought back over it all. Shaking her head, "Guess I could see that. Things have been.. wild, lately. Even," she waved her hand, "even before.. as all of this started. It's- it's given me a chance to change things," she shrugged, "if I can."
