Expected guests (Day 4 Late Evenng)

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku feels herself becoming mollified by Shouji's attentiveness, her muscles loosening somewhat, her breathing easier though still deep.

"How much does Tsuruchi-sama remember," she inquires, "if I may ask?"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

He glanced up from his work, and offered the Crane woman a smile. "More then enough to be concerned. I've spent a good portion of my day looking into what might he happening."

"I've found out somethings but not all." His lips moved into a playful smirk. "I do remember your words from yesterday evening, if you were wondering. As well your dance that brought them about."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Oh?" Yuuwaku colors slightly. "And which words were those?"

I have been letting my mouth run too much, she thinks. The sensei would be displeased.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Something that echoes our current circumstances." He replied, turning her way and noticing the slight blush on her cheeks. It was a rather lovely sight and his eyes lingered on Yuuwaku for a few moments before turning back towards the tea, which was almost ready.

"Private dances i believe the subject was."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Ah."

Yuuwaku breathes deeply again, the smell of the tea reaching her, easing her.

"There have been some who have indicated that they have precious little experience with such things. I presume the captain is not among them, being traveled as he is."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Some men of the sea like to say 'any port in a storm.' about such things, I'm not among them." He poured the tea into a pair of cups and brought it too the table, a white tea flavored with a bit of lavendar. "Though I can say I've danced before." There was a little color to his own cheeks as he admitted that.

Handing her the cup he placed the other before him as he took a seat. "I will have to say that the only dancing tonight will be the dancing you show me though." He added with a a soft sigh. "Sometimes the mood of the evening slips through our fingers."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Oh?" Yuuwaku replies. That's unusual, she thinks.

She sips at the tea. "This is quite good. Thank you.

"And I would note that not many men are so hesitant to, should we say, pull into harbor. Does my captain worry about offloading cargo?"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"My pleasure." He replied picking up his own cup and taking a sip.

"No, if I did I'd just retrieve any unclaimed cargo, as long as it wasn't otherwise wanted, and I had sufficient reason to think it was mine."

He paused a moment and thought. "I suppose I'm just a bit particular about where I weigh anchor." He glanced towards the door.

"As for tonight, i have too many pieces in play this evening. I couldn't garuntee we don't have company."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Oh?" Yuuwaku raises an eyebrow. "May I ask who might be joining us? It would help me adjust the dance."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"It wouldn't be for long in all likelihood. I do have an Imperial guest on the Ship though. Who will be staying the evening."

"There is also a ronin in my employ as well as one of my crew members that may ask to see me. I'm waiting for them to return and give me word on some of the tasks I set them."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Ah. Weighty matters, indeed," Yuuwaku replies. "I am the more flattered, then, that the captain takes time to see me."

She takes another pull from the tea. "What is the name of this blend? I must see if I can get some up in Tsuma."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"I try to keep my promises, even if it's not exactly on the right day." He offered with a soft smile at the Crane.

"As for the tea, It's called Spring Haze, I picked it up the lazt time I was in the capital." Which easn't too long ago. "I'd tell you more of it's origins, but I admit I didn't look into it."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods, taking in the name.

"I shall keep it in mind, Tsuruchi-sama," she says, "as I will your kind indulgence."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

That brought a smile to his lips. "Perhaps you'll indulge me with another meeting sometime, then?"

"Not that I wish to rush thus one to an end. I am still looking forward to that dance after all. Is there more that you would like to know about me?"

"To tailor it like you said?"

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku regards him quietly for a few moments before responding.

"What does my captain think of Otomo Sasei?"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

That brought a pause. "An honest opinion? On the surface he is a decent fellow."

"Under that though?" He paused a moment. "I think he is confusing and doesn't always think his actions through. If I'm being frank." He glanced towards the Crane his eyes on hers for a moment. "Why do you ask? Is he courting your attention?"

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"An assistant to an Otomo matchmaker? And me, well," and Yuuwaku gestures to herself; she is aware of her charms, after all, "as I am? It is the kind of thing that must be considered. If not for himself, for someone he might have in mind--and others he might not want to have in mind."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Ah." That made a bit of sense. "Something tells me you may believe he thinks of me as the latter?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Nit that it matters to me one way or another if he does. I enjoy your company Kakita-san, and thats enough."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"I'd not presume to guess at an Imperial mindset," Yuuwaku says, "although the thoughts of a young man might be intuited."

As well as things other than thoughts.

"But I am pleased that Tsuruchi-sama enjoys my company, even in such times as these," she continues, taking another sip of the tea. Sighing contentedly, she remarks "I had not thought to find such excellent companionship here as I have. It is a pleasant surprise, and I thank the Fortunes for the lesson."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Quite true." He agreed with a nod, picking up his cup of tea and taking a sip.

"Yes, I'd have to agree with you there. I wasn't sure what i might wind arms this wedding m, but I never suspected it would be so pleasant." His lips curled into an amused smile. "Though other then the company of such fine people as yourself, I admit my time here has been quite trying."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"What vexes the captain?" Yuuwaku asks and moves around to sit next to, rather than across from him. "Surely, things cannot be so bad as all that?"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"A few things he admitted." Not minding the Crane coming around the table. "Not all of which i am at liberty to speak of. I will say this repeating day is trying though."

"The loss of one of my crew sits heavily on me as well. Along with how much to tell those of my crew that do not recall that today has repeated." He glanced her way and smiled.

"This evening was to be a pleasant distraction from all that. Though some might not like the idea of that it seems."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods, somewhat sadly.

"I can understand that, Tsuruchi-sama," she says. "And it is to your credit that the loss of one of yours weighs upon you. Not all would be so concerned, were they themselves safe."

She sets her teacup on the table, empty.

"I do think, however, that you might have a bit more privacy than you had anticipated."

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"They are my subordinates, I do consider their well being part of my responsibility." He offered in explanation his eyes shifting towards the Crane at his side.

"I suppose you might be right." He mused slipping his arm around her back, hus hand resting on her hip opposite his. "Though I should probably tell you that sound carries on a ship."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Paper walls are thin, my captain," Yuuwaku replies, and leans against him. "And I imagine you are a careful man."

Her hand moves to rest upon his chest.
