(D3 LA) Dreams on Ink - [Closed]

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He ordered the servants to set the room proper, maneuvering them around. Inks, a wagasa and some brushes set aside a table with three seats, he wrote an invite with fine brushes and colored inks — it was for a ronin, but even if it was for a heimin scribe, it had to be proper because he was a Crane. Seems like it ended up better than he would expect, and for that he was slightly proud. He signed it, so they would let her enter.

He called over a servant and gave him the invite. "Seek for Kakita Yuuwaku, and tell her I'm doing a meeting with her and the ronin here. Then seek for a ronin artist named Amika. Begin to seek for her in the inn, she was painting something there. Don't ask any samurai dressed on red about her. Give it to her." He ordered in the shortest phrases he could, so that it would be easy orders to remember.

Then he ordered the other to brew tea. Even before the guests arrived, just because he was on the mood for it.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku is the easy one to find--her room is not far from Sanaharu's, after all--and so she arrives soonest.

She smiles as she bows, the jewel on her forehead catching and casting out the light.

"Sana-kun, you seem to have been at work already! And," she glances at the papers, "quite well, too.

"So, this is when we see if your friend is able and willing, eh?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

She was still using Sana-kun. Strange.
Maybe she was really signaling something last night... No, still couldn't be. But maybe?
"Oh. Yuuwaku-senpai!" He answers with a seated bow. "Thank you. I can't say what she will do, but I think she will. She is not my or our friend, though. Not yet."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

We are going to be entertaining, or he is, Yuuawku thinks.

"Well, we will have to work to make a new friend, then, won't we, Sanaharu-kohai. But I don't think that will be difficult for you, charming as you are."

She fans herself lightly, idly.

"It has been a busy day already. Good, but busy."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Thank you for the compliment, again." He takes his fan and starts waving himself as well. "It has been busy indeed... I haven't left this place for the entire afternoon. This embassy, I say. This is my third gathering here in a row." He nods. "Counting the magistrate-issued one."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku nods. "One can hardly not.

"But what did you have just before this?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Daidoji Yushoko-sama called me and Kaneko-sama to a meeting with the groom, her niece, and the groom's mother."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Ah." Yuuwaku nods. "I hope it went well."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

...Well, he could not answer yes to that.
A servant came in, serving tea.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"You ordered tea already? So thoughtful! What's the blend?" Yuuwaku asks, having not been present for other threads and so being blissfully unaware of all the horrors and shenanigans that have been going on.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

Sanaharu only was present on one, and even then he failed a TN 12 investigation check, so he was as blissed on ignorance. "Dark matcha. I like it, personally."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Then I'm sure I will, too!"

She smiles at him, warmly.

"So, when are we expecting the other?"

She accepts a cup of tea.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"I just sent a heimin to find her and give her the invitation, but only if she was not near any Scorpions. Maybe they are looking for her still. I believe we have quite some time, nevertheless."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Something I don't understand," Yuuwaku says as she finds a seat, "is why the Scorpion seem interested in her. Is it just to mess with you? With us, generally?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Perhaps. I'll try distancing them both on the conversation. If she was being fake, it benefits the ronin to know. If she was being genuine, it still benefits the ronin, I guess. I don't think she would not have anything planned to use the ronin and then discard her."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku sips at her tea.

"It is quite good.

"Anyway, who can tell with Scorpion. They think themselves so clever, swinging their little poison pricks around."

Though his, at least, was handed well, she thinks.

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He chuckles at the commentary. "Like we could not perceive, right? Oh to be as dull to think artists and Crane both know nothing of court. Guess this is why cranes at the wild do pose scorpions a threat."

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

Yuuwaku laughs a little as a thought takes her.

"I do have to say I appreciate our hosts' directness in reacting to such people, though." Another sip at the tea. "A point of common interest, neh?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Absolutely." He replies with a smile that forms on his face almost instantly, taking his own cup of tea. "What do you think best, Yuu-senpai? To let her paint the things first or to talk to her first?"

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Talk and tea, then art and talk."

Yuuwaku nods.

"But that's me. This is your show, Sana-kohai. I am your guest and so in your care."

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Same plan I had, then." He nods, stretching himself slightly.

[Kakita Yuuwaku]

"Feeling stiff, Sana-kohai?"

[Asahina Sanaharu]

"Ah, yes, it's a common thing. I'm way too tall."

[Amika]

The painter wolf arrives at the Crane inn/embassy house. Amika was carrying different clothing today. It was a pink-ish furisode with a floral motive, very traditional and actually quite expensive for the likes of a ronin. Certainly it was not as expensive as the things that are made for other richer samurai but this certainly was quite a change of sight from what the Asahina had met yesterday.

When she was asked for papers, the wolf shown the letter to the Crane guards and they let her in. Amika allowed them to peace bound her katana and wakizashi, so that it would be imposible for her to draw the blades. Not that she would, but she was still a samurai and her daisho was on her obi.

As some servants guided her towards the meeting room Amika tried to be as formal as best she could, bowing, looking down, and all the other mannerism that shown that she was a lower status samurai. She was carrying her fan on her left hand.

Finally a scratch on the shoji by some heimin servant and he presented her towards the two Crane samurai already there. Amika bowed from the door, quite low and then kneeled in the same place, once again bowing, this time from a kneeling position.

'' Asahina Sanaharu-sama, Crane-sama...'' She said politely to the both of them. '' This one is honored for the invitation. Accept my most sincere gratitude and this one hopes that you were not waiting for too long. Have Inari-no-kami blessed you today, minna-sama?'' She said from the slidding door entrance, waiting for being acknowledged and invited to enter to the room

[Asahina Sanaharu]

He nodded to her, analyzing her frame. The robes were definetively different, maybe she was an one-purpose-fits-all artist that was paid or gifted to make presentations at Crab lands. They didn't have a lot of artists, after all. A shame. "As proper etiquette always required it, give your swords to a servant before entering. After that, you are welcome to enter the room and drink tea with us." He wondered how they even let her enter so far in the house with both on her, peacebound or not. Perhaps it is a Crab thing.

"Regardless, what about you, Amika? Have you had your portion of rice today? At my side is my friend from the Academy, Kakita Yuuwaku-senpai. Her specialty is dance, although she had also been trained on painting. Not only when I told her about the artist ronin she was all the most eager to meet such a person, but I also wanted to talk to you, personally, properly, as others gave me not the chance when we first met."
