D3 LN - Back into the Dark

A newly constructed manor near the docks, so the smell of fish and the sea greets the guests, this place was created for visiting Crane delegations. The Crab have spared no expense, or so they said... the Crane would argue otherwise.

She appeared in the center of the room again, her back to the samurai and a small voice filled the air, "Yes... please, a hug will save me."

Every instinct, every nuance within his working mind told him one, very simple truth:

This was a trap.

The burns, lacerations and scars within his mortal confounds screamed at him that he should run, dive out the window and, but what discipline hadn't been eroded by his own hubris silenced their tormented wails with an iron-clad lid on his thoughts.

But somewhere, in the part of his mind where lost memories waited to be rediscovered, he had promised to protect... something that needed his help.

He stood up, and dusted himself off. In the centre of the room was the large banquet table, so he circled around the side until he was closer, making his motions steady and rhythmic as best as his training could.

Once close, he knelt down, raising his arms wide with promises of hugs.

Was he... crying? Could he cry? If he was crying, why was he still...happy?

A mons-

The monster couldn't manifest now. This child needed help. Needed love. And maybe it was the element of Doji's compassion within him, but he could not turn away.

"By all means."

His instincts were right.

The hug is painful like white pain and a thousand needles into his eye, his body is wracked with pain and suffering.

Then a giggle.

Then she was gone and the world went dark... until [redacted until Day 4].
