The bowl wasn't big enough to hid him completely after such display. Controlling a blush, the Otomo lowers his arms with the food and provides a seated bow to the Ikoma. He raises an eyebrow to mention, “She might have been there indeed. I mean, the heir.”

"In the village? Certainly. She had been traveling as part of a Heroes Journey. It certainly does seem to be the Will of the Heavens then, that her presence resolved such a curse as the announcement was made." Ren continues seamlessly

"Poetic." He says, providing a grin.

Then, he asks, "I hope Inari-kami has been kind. How is Ikoma-san feeling today?"

"Oh, I am well enough Otomo-sama. I am certainly in no condition to complain while you are recovering so." Ren inclines his head. "However, with the commotion from last night and the announcement this morning, I have not had the chance to properly celebrate and find myself tragically sober"

"Celebrate?" He tilts his head a bit.

Ren lets out a full belly laugh. "We destroyed a curse! Something that can be spun into an epic! A time loop! What isn't exciting about it?"

"Oh, that. Sure." The young man scratches his head. "The news weren't so good today, so... that's why."
