Calling Card [Day 5, LM]

[Yoko]

Bottles dangled and played their un-harmonious song against her hip as she stepped into the inn. Once more today she had a few things to settle up on, considering the events they faced thus far. Best to try and deal with both birds at the same time, so to speak. Glancing around the establishment she sought to locate the keeper of the inn.

[Fuzake Hifumi]

Hifumi sat in the common area, writing. Dango sat nearby, eating.

[Dapper Dog]

The proprietor was overseeing breakfast, making sure the Monkey had enough to eat and other guests. She added, "Breakfast is not free ronin."

[Yoko]

"I don't expect it would be, coming by for a visit though," she glanced toward the rooms in the back. "Sutorenja-san in?" she raised a finger, "And- strange question, we talked yesterday?" she said, and then focused on the woman a bit more, reading her reaction.

[Dapper Dog]

She responded, "I talk to many wave people, you are going to have to be specific. That ronin is earning her keep outback cutting fire wood."

[Yoko]

Yoko nodded, gave a little smile at the answer. Then returned to, "Yesterday," she turned her cheek as to show the scar. "We spoke outside about an arrangement? Wanted to make sure that- well, I wanted to check it was still good, eh? Otherwise, well, we can chat again- sometime- later?"

[Dapper Dog]

"You looking for work it seems," she responded.

[Yoko]

There was a pause, when she got her answer and recalculated. With a little nod, "Yea."

[Dapper Dog]

"Find the house with he ref flag, and mention I sent you. They may have work for you," she responded.

[Yoko]

"I'll be sure to," she glanced toward the quickest exit toward the back. Giving a little head nod to make sure it was alright and then making her way to find Sutorenja.

[Sutorenja]

The ronin was out back chopping and preparing wood.

[Yoko]

"Sutorenja-san," she half jogged over a couple steps. Coming up to her side she gave the woman some room for the swinging axe. "Got some time to chat?"

[Sutorenja]

"I suppose, can it wait till I am done?" she asked politely.

[Yoko]

"Of course, I'll just wait over here if you don't mind, eh?" she said, referencing a nice spot pretty close that seemed a nice place to sit.

"Unless you want a hand with anything?"

[Sutorenja]

"I cannot ask someone to do a task that I have been tasked to do," she said warmly as she chopped.

"I suppose I can listen, if that is all you require of me while I work."

[Yoko]

Yoko regarded her for a moment, smiled, she was certainly the real deal, "Could be.. depends on something," she hooked her thumb into her obi with one hand and rested the other on her hip where she stood.

"We spoke yesterday, where?" she asked, quirking her brow.

[Sutorenja]

"I think the festival, right?" she said as she chopped.

[Yoko]

"Not quite.." she chuckled, shaking her head. "I've a story to tell you that you won't believe I'm afraid, you didn't last time we spoke. But.. I should give you the time with your work first, eh? It can wait a little while."

[Sutorenja]

"Okay?" she said curiously and then spent the next few minutes to finish her duties before taking a seat and said, "Okay, tell me."

[Yoko]

"Okay.." she took a breath, laughed and shook her head. "We are stuck in what seems to be a curse over the village. This day has repeated twice now. Yesterday I came here and found Ikoma Ren with you and we convinced you of this. But.. there is more. Our first day of meeting you were faced by Ikeda Ishi, a woman whom.. a woman who was mislead into trying to take your life," she says, fidgeting a little. "She knows now of the deception that lead to her attempted action and no longer hunts you. That you should know, but those who want you dead will try another way."


"That first day I learned of who you are. I learned of a plot to kill you because.. well, let's say your family is complicated, eh?" she raised her shoulders, sat proper, and exhaled. "You have no right to believe me, but you inspired me to be better the day you do remember, the day we met. Ever since then I've only learned more reasons to try and help you as much as I can. So even though I doubt you will believe any of this, I have to try.. because you need to be aware of the danger you face."

[Fuzake Hifumi]

Hifumi had waited a few moments before following the ronin.

[Dapper Dog]

She frowned and then said, "That... is quite the tale. I can guess then you know of my previous life then?"

[Yoko]

Yoko glances to the Fuzake as she appeared, then looked back to Sutorenja. "As unfair as it is, yes. As even in these past couple of days I've never had the chance.. or ability, to share the same. Not that.." she shakes her head, "well, it seems pasts have a likelihood of coming back to haunt us, eh?" she chuckles a little and shook her head.
