[Day 4 - Early Afternoon] Chores and Busywork

[Yue]

Yue hadn't had quite the chance to move from the inn yet and she still had an obligation with the inn if she was still staying here. She tied her sleeves back and donned a headband as she got to work with mopping the floor. However, she found herself working languidly and found herself distracted as she kept stern eyes at the entrance. Something was up and she was determined to catch it, or at least change the tide of the fortunes if her feelings about the day proved true.

[Yue]

Yue wasn't a trained guard but it seemed she was on full alert on this one. Nobody was going to get past this maid...ugh, ronin.

Day 3, Early Afternoon: Investigation/Perception vs TN13: 2d10 19

[Dapper Dog]

She saw a dark figure heading up the stairs to the guest rooms.

They left behind damp footsteps.

[Yue]

(OOC: Sorry, that was supposed to be a day 4 roll, which I can't obviously roll for day 3 anymore. ^_^;)

Yue lower her mop gently, careful to not make too much sound. This time, she was determined to get the jump on this figure, kitsune spirit, ghost, whatever! She took quiet steps and made her way toward the guest rooms as well, determined to get the jump on this thing instead.

Day 4, Early Afternoon: Stealth/Agility: 7d10o10k3 38

[Hitomi]

Once at the top she sees a little girl standing at the far end of the hall with her back to Yue.

She hears the girl say, "I am sorry."

[Yue]

Yue didn't assume she was talking to her...perhaps the peasant that she had injured yesterday? She frowned and slowly crept up on the little girl. Now that she had a good look at her, certain most certainly rule out a kitsune...she looked rather sinister.

She wasn't going to let this repeat again and quickly rushed at her as she was intent on tackling her. "Oh no you don't!"

[Dapper Dog]

They tumble and wrestle and then she has the... old man pinned, a guest some old man from a neighboring village and peasant at that.

"Well if you wish to have me miss, I am yours," he said chuckling.

[Yue]

"...what?!" Yue quickly hopped back to her feet and staggered away from the old man.

Confused and bamboozled was the least of it. Her face was red with embarrassment and gave him a deep bow, murmuring something that barely even sounded like an apology. Cutting her losses, she quickly turned around and went back downstairs, pretending the incident didn't even happen.

[Dapper Dog]

She can hear Jun in the main room, "Samurai-sama?"

She frowned and added, “I thought she was cleaning… how did she miss the mud?”

[Yue]

Yue perked up at the call, it was a cue to a stage show and she knew that it was her time to make her appearance. She quickly hurried down the steps to intercept her. "Wait!"

Day 4, Early Afternoon: Athletics/Strength vs TN11: 4d10o10k2 18

Yue was quick and her appearance made Jun move towards her just an instant before the beam hit the ground missing the poor girl.

"Hida's Balls!" she shouted.

[Yue]

Yue was rather pleased with her success and did her best to catch her breath. However, the excitement of it all only made her ramble out her story in a quick sorry. "Jun! There was a spirit here yesterday and it crushed you with the ceiling beam, so I followed it up today and I almost caught her but...then I heard you and I came down and I stopped you from getting crushed!"

[Dapper Dog]

"Wait, what?" she said trying to process the fast words.

"A ghost!"

[Yue]

Yue took a breather and swallowed before speaking again. "Yes, there's a ghost here and I think she's after you. I think she was stalking you."

Or me she thought to herself.

[Dapper Dog]

Jun makes a warding gesture and said, "We should tell the Lord of the Castle!"

[Yue]

Yue followed the same gesture as well. While it might have been a peasant superstition and only local to here, she couldn't exactly be too sure of what worked and what didn't work. Things were better in pairs, right? "We..."

She paused after a bit of hesitation. "How? Would the lord grant us an audience for such a thing?"

[Dapper Dog]

"I don't know but we have to try," she said honestly.

[Yue]

Yue didn't particularly feel like going to the authorities about this, especially when trouble was concerned. She sighed softly, being reminded of that strange Crab who was suspicious of her.

"Very well, let's go then," she nodded the peasant, "and we should probably go together. This place might be cursed...."

[Dapper Dog]

Once outside they find two Hida Bushi watching some folks around the well.

[Yue]

"Hey, wait, hold on here..." Yue gestured for Jun to stay close to her as she approached the Hida to see what was going around the well. Did something happen or just something that passed for entertainment around here?

[Dapper Dog]

They seem to just be enjoying the conversation and killing time it does not seem like anything untoward is happening.

Jun waited to see what Yue would do.

[Yue]

Yesterday and 'today' had been pretty crazy for her, probably so much so that she almost expected that the well was going to explode. She was already at the point of jumping at shadows, it seems. When she realized that wasn't the case, she sighed in relief.

The two Hida likely represented the ''Castle' as the peasant brought up and she approached them carefully, greeting them with a deep bow. "Ano....Hida-sama, may I have a moment of your time?"

[Dapper Dog]

She turned and said, "Afternoon ronin, you runnin' short on coin or something?"

[Yue]

Yue bit back a frown and said, "No...but I suppose Jun-san and I wanted to report something that was going on..."

She already felt a bit dumb for bringing this up, even if it was true, but the Crab might take it seriously.

"...I saw a dark spirit at the Inn and it tried to kill Jun-san here by collapsing the ceiling of the Inn. I'm sure it's still there or might be targeting us."
