[Day 2 - Late Morning] Keeping Out of Trouble

[Dapper Dog]

"Then give me names of people you suspect could be such monsters," he offered.

[Yue]

"...Sorry, Crab-sama, I can't say I know many people here and I don't have many reasons to suspect them," she said before she postured to give him a very deep bow in apology.

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren pauses for a beat. "Well...I just...I haven't spent a full day in the village. The only ones I could think of, the foulest I can conjure, I doubt would be capable of such a thing"

[Dapper Dog]

"I need a name, Lion, or I take you before Fuboshi-dono and she won't be as kind," he offered.

[Ikoma Ren]

"I don't know their names. However, a pair of guards on the road here threatened to take advantage of a lone traveler. You know, in that way, before myself and Fuzake Hifumi arrived. What you seek is those who would do the unthinkable, and that is the closest I can think of." Ren bows. "I sincerely wish that I could be of more use."

[Dapper Dog]

"I see... always the one you would never suspect, thank you Lion," he said warmly.

"Keep your nose clean, ronin. I don't want to have come looking for you again."

[Yue]

Yue bowed just as deeply as she did before, appearing as apologetic and humble as she could manage with her already meagre status. "Of course, Crab-sama, I don't intend to cause trouble here. It is only my intention to procure hard-earned koku here. Bu and zeni too, of course."

[Ikoma Ren]

Ren stays as humble as he can (with some difficulty) as he waits for the group to depart.

[Dapper Dog]

Yue bowed just as deeply as she did before, appearing as apologetic and humble as she could manage with her already meagre status. "Of course, Crab-sama, I don't intend to cause trouble here. It is only my intention to procure hard-earned koku here. Bu and zeni too, of course."

"You find me who is hunting Hida Yoji, or proof, and you can earn five koku," he said with a grin.

They departed.

[Yue]

Yue stayed bowed until she could hear the Crab leave. Once they were far enough away from hearing their conversation, she finally straightened again and frowned. She let out a sigh and looked to the Lion, "That was something."

[Ikoma Ren]

"Indeed. I don't know what got up their ass or why they would be chasing something that outlandish. Buuut...." Ren adopts the smile of a cat left alone with a prize songbird. His sides start to shake from barely constrained laughter. "I can hardly *snort* think of of a lovelier pair to have his attentions."

[Yue]

"There are a lot of people here and maybe they have to look busy," she gave a shrug as she glanced off towards the direction of where they had departed, "but I can suddenly see what you meant by your relationship regarding the Lion and the Crab, at least. I still don't know if Lion could be suspected of those things he mentioned. But what I got out of that was that someone was targeting the groom, that's what's weird. Did you hear anything about that?"

[Ikoma Ren]

"Honestly? No." The mirth vanishes from Ren's face. "And that's troubling to me. I take pride in keeping up on rumors and I've heard no inkling of the sort, never mind some of the more outlandish accusations."

[Yue]

Yue gave it a few more moments of thought before she ultimately shook her head. "Maybe it's nothing, just more words to get under your skin. Sometimes people just make up threats in hopes that they actually appear. I'm sure if he told me to keep an eye out for a talking bear in the woods, it would have just as valid to keep me preoccupied. It's just a way to get some free work out of some ronin."
