[Day 2 - EA] Pen is Mightier

[Bayushi Ijihime]

That came straight out of left field, and the young Captain's cheeks flushed pink for a moment. He did manage to distract himself from the comment for a moment as he spotted Yoko in the crowd, stalking a Crane?

"That's kind of you to say as much, Bayushi-san." He offered as he turned his gaze back towards her. "I was wondering if you found everything acceptable. We hardly had a chance to chat during the voyage."

“Sea travel did not agree with me, this was one was in no state to receive such kind attention,” she replied.

“More than acceptable, your crew was very accommodating. Enjoying the festival?”

[Daidoji Yushoko]

Yoko watched the show a bit longer, taking a bite of one treat while she slipped the other two off into her other hand. Shuffling over a step, making it look like she was just fixing how she was standing for the moment. Gaining a little smirk to her expression she glanced over her shoulder and looked to Yushoko, just a little down as to not cause offense, "Hope you're enjoying the festivities, Samurai-sama?" she asked, holding back her smirk from forming by taking another bite of the treat of interesting nature.

It spoke to her.

The fan was in place and the response was ready and deployed, “It is a most daring display of Crab charm, this one is honored to be here to enjoy it.”

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

“More than acceptable, your crew was very accommodating. Enjoying the festival?”

"I'm sorry to hear, though sea travel is not something that agrees with everyone." There was a Imperial in the crowd that shared the same constitution.

"As for the festival? Thus far, though I've really just arrived. I've not even had the chance to try any of the festival treats." He offered the older woman a smile. "Though as a single man, there isn't much encouragement to be fertile."

"What of you though? Manage to find much of interest at this festival others then the play?" Maybe they had games or something.

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"The show is a nice diversion but if you wish perhaps we can peruse other sights to see, perhaps a game to enjoy?" she offered.

[Yoko]

It spoke to her.

"That's nice, I've never seen something like this before in all my travel so," she looked, casually took another bite of the treat. Raising her other hand up with the two spare she looked to Yushoko, smiling a bit. "Want a treat?"

[Daidoji Yushoko]

“That is far too kind, this one has eaten this day. She could not accept such a delicious treat from one with such meager means,” she said apologetically.

[Yoko]

"Sure- no sense in worrying about it too much. All here to have a little enjoyment, hmm? Still, if you're not keen on eating hope you don't mind if I-" she glanced about, Ishi and Kio if the girl was still around. Holding up the hand with the two treats she gave it a little raise, offering them. "Eh?"

[Daidoji Yushoko]

“The child is not hungry, I cannot speak for Ikeda-san,” she said politely.

Kio’s look says otherwise but she stays quiet for now.

[Yoko]

Yoko gave a look to Kio, offered a quick smile. Looking over more directly to Ishi, with the smile growing just a little, "Ikeda-sama then? I've found myself with the extra and would be appreciative of the help, eh?"

[Ikeda Ishi]

Her gut reaction was to decline but seeing the ronin go to the effort of being… well she was not sure of the word. Maybe Courtesy? This would have to be another thing to ponder but she replied, “That is kind of you, not too much as I must not get distracted.”

[Yoko]

"I would never wish for you to get distracted from your duty, eh? Didn't think I'd manage running into you again," she said with a smile, handing over the treat. "Especially when-" she glanced over to Yushoko, then down and found Kio- "you're here watching over someone so darling, hmm?" she lay the hand down with the lone treat, holding it by her waist, nearby but far in the knowing that neither were too keen on angering Yushoko.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

His eyes shifted towards the ronin and the trio she was talking with for a moment. Hopefully the ronin wouldn't cause ant trouble.

Shifting his eyes back to the Scorpion he offered the lovely woman a smile. "I wouldn't mind stay here and enjoying the show, as you said it's a nice diversion."

"Festival games do interest me though, and will leave my attention solely for you when we aren't playing."

[Bayushi Ijihime]

"Do you know that wave woman?" she said quietly to the Mantis.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Yes." He admitted after a moment. "She worked her way here on my ship." He left out that they were more or less keeping her services on retainer for the moment. "You likely missed her due to the circumstances."

[Ikeda Ishi]

"I would never wish for you to get distracted from your duty, eh? Didn't think I'd manage running into you again," she said with a smile, handing over the treat. "Especially when-" she glanced over to Yushoko, then down and found Kio- "you're here watching over someone so darling, hmm?" she lay the hand down with the lone treat, holding it by her waist, nearby but far in the knowing that neither were too keen on angering Yushoko.

Kio took the bait while the Ikeda was satisfied with her snack. Ishi replied, “She is under the protection of Otomo Yusuke, if my life is needed to see her wed then it be so. I would have thought that you would have moved on, or have the Mantis saw fit to employ your services further?”

[Yoko]

"Spent a few more days here, figured I'd get a feel for the village and then, yea, Mantis tossed some-" she paused, smiled. "Yea, Mantis said that it'd be good to have another set of hands nearby just in case, eh? Everyone I've spoken to lately seems- well, they all really want things to go well here. Which is good enough for me that they want to see me around to help make sure that stays the case. Can't ask for much better work than making sure a wedding goes off without too many problems, eh?"

[Ikeda Ishi]

"At least you have a purpose, no matter how fleeting," she replied.

[Yoko]

"Everything has a purpose, sometimes it's just a little hard to see," she chewed a bit more, thoughtfully.

"So-" she glanced over to Yushoko, "for what it's worth from someone like me, I do hope for the best with your wedding, Daidoji-sama. Heard about you just a little when I spoke the other day with a closer blood relative of yours, Kakita Masao-sama. Seems a good man. Which is also where I've gathered that his here is Kio?" she said, looking down with a cocky smirk.

"Oh- Yoko, by the way," she said, giving what bit of a bow she could. "Wouldn't want to say all that without making myself known, eh?"

[Daidoji Yushoko]

She thought she had escaped but it pulled her back in and she turned and smiled politely and said, “I was not aware that you knew my dear kin, I am pleased he spoke so highly of me to one so bold and thoughtful, Yoko-san.”

[Yoko]

Yoko smirked, shaking her head rather than actually commenting the very first thought. Instead, "Good to hear, and good to get the chance to meet you. Mind if I inquire with Kio on how she's doing today?" glancing down at the girl for a quick moment, but looking to Yushoko for the confirmation.

[Daidoji Yushoko]

"Why?" she asked.

[Yoko]

Yoko's bottom lip twisted a bit, breaking from that into a soft-albeit-forced smile. "Just want to make sure she's having a good time. Kids, more than anyone else here, deserve to have a good time unbothered by any other concerns, eh?"

[Daidoji Yushoko]

"She is not just a mere child, wave-woman, she is the direct blood lineage of the first Daidoji, and a venerated kuge of the Crane. She is not just a child, she is a future leader of the Crane, I do not think there is anything you have to say that is worthy of her ears," she said calmly but with authority.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

Since the Scorpion's words had brought his attention back to the group, Shouji watched even unfold for a few moments.

Maybe he should take the chance to call Yoko away before events turned for the worse?

[Ikeda Ishi]

Yoko's bottom lip twisted a bit, breaking from that into a soft-albeit-forced smile. "Just want to make sure she's having a good time. Kids, more than anyone else here, deserve to have a good time unbothered by any other concerns, eh?"

Ishi rested her hand on her hilt and said, "Perhaps it is best we take our leave, Lady Yushoko."
