An Evening Gathering Redux (Day 4 Mid Evening)

[Kitsuki Naida]

It seemed the Kitsuki would take any chance to dress down, since she was in a very scant summer yukata that was open to show off traditional wrapped swimwear underneath; If this was going to be happening again, she wasn't going to bother being formal.

Taking a cup of shochu the Dragon woman sighed softly.

[Hiruma Sen]

“...Yes...? I mean, we did go back to my house.” Sen just looked at Meiko wondering how drunk she was last night. This night? Now Sen was just confused.

So, she turned to the ronin. “Yue-san, party feel familiar to you as well?”

[Moshi Meiko]

“Really really familiar? But maybe the decor is just different?”

[Yue]

"A party is a party," she said with a small shrug and looked at the decor. While she didn't pay too much attention on the decor last night, she supposed she doesn't recall there being a clam theme. Clams were memorable at least she distinctively recalled not seeing any shellfish on the beach. "The decor is different but this day is different...and the same at the same time. Everything is close to the same if we're doing different things."

[Yoritomo Koemi]

The Crane's curiosity is peaked. "Is that right? I might ask why, but if you'll forgive me making the assumption, it's probably the same reason that I dislike things like this. Duty leaves little time for frivolous things, hm? And 'parties' can just be an excuse for people to do things they wouldn't otherwise." His eyes look a little steely. "Any more people than one squad of soldiers is..." He shakes his head. "And only that many if you can split them between two fires and stay by the quieter group, hm?" He makes it clear he's joking now, but everything before sounded deadly serious.

"Huh? Oh, it's not quite like that for me," Koemi admitted. She raised an eyebrow at the Kakita and then sighed. "Or maybe it is? I don't know, it's not exactly the noise. Sailing isn't exactly quiet. Maybe it's the type of noise instead for me?"

[Kakita Masao]

Masao turns toward her, not hiding his curiosity. "I'm sorry, Yoritomo-san, but you're making me more curious, not less. It sounds like maybe it isn't the people, and maybe it isn't the noise... But aren't those the most objectionable things about 'parties'?"

[Hida Daichi]

Word was out there was a party and anyone that didn't bet to see Daichi there was a terrible gamble. He rolled up not long after his sister and brother in law. He saw them chatting with the Mantis captain he had shared a few drinks with the other evening.

The Crab Lord arrived with her husband quite starry eyed at the view.

"Kitu-chan! I'm surprised to see you here, Yancho-kun has been telling me how busy you are of late. Good to see you here to let your hair down a bit, relax and have a good time!"

He then gave a short bow to Shouji "and Tsuruchi-sama! Thanks for putting together this whole thing!" Anyone that gave the Crab a venue to drink in was alright by him.

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"Happy to provide." Shouji pffered with a smile to the large Hida as he returned the bow. "Though it's a bit of an added bonsu to get to hear what the close members of the governor's family calls her." The Mantis added a bit of amusement in his tone.

[Hida Kitusuchi]

"Kitu-chan! I'm surprised to see you here, Yancho-kun has been telling me how busy you are of late. Good to see you here to let your hair down a bit, relax and have a good time!"

He then gave a short bow to Shouji "and Tsuruchi-sama! Thanks for putting together this whole thing!" Anyone that gave the Crab a venue to drink in was alright by him.

"I am not surprised to see you here, Daichi-kun, have you met the good Captain?" she asked.

[Doji Yuma]

Yuma had elected to sleep rather than partying the previous (same?) day. While partying still wasn't on his mind at the moment, watching the beach and meeting some of the Mantis lifeguards were two things that appealed to him.

Dressed rather boringly, he approved with a nod of the high quality illusions as a professional illusionist himself.

Yue narrowed her eyes on Sen in regards to her words. It been a rather peculiar day but she rather not think that she had a peculiar week. "I wouldn't like to think that was the case...I remember yesterday and the day before that, which was more or less a normal day. If that was actually the case then what was so different about this day than yesterday, other than some of us knowing?"

[Tsuruchi Shouji]

"I am not surprised to see you here, Daichi-kun, have you met the good Captain?" she asked.

"We shared a few cups together last night." The Captain replied with a grin. "Your brother here seems the type of man that can drink an entire river."

[Moshi Meiko]

Now Meiko looks really worried
"You mean that this could have happened before and we just don't remember?"
Shifting nervously upon the clam
"And it might keep happening?...Something must have happened, maybe we're...dreaming? Or in an illusion?...Group hallucination?"

[Yue]

"We don't know that for sure," she said warily, "and if something is so intent to making things difficult for us and doing so impossible as repeating a day, why hasn't it done something easier, like kill us all?"

[Moshi Meiko]

"Because it's a curse or a haunting or both!"
Meiko nods sagely
"They never just kill you, there's always more scary stuff!"

[Yue]

"I'm sure...but repeating the day seems like the least of it or I just have a limited imagination. So you're saying that keeping us here is the goal then? What or who could be so important to keep trapped here?" she asked, knowing full well it wasn't her.

[Moshi Meiko]

"Maybe it's you! You could be a mysterious ronin with an important past!....But It's probably to do with the wedding, right? Unless something like this happens all the time."

"...maybe Moshi-sama is onto something but I'm entirely sure myself as it's my first time in the Crab lands and in a Crab wedding. Initially, I thought there was just going to be drinking all week but I'm glad there isn't, even if the temptation is there now if this is going to be a thing."

“I mean, this is the first I’ve experienced somethin’ like this.” Sen shrugged. “So it ain’t somethin’ that happens a lot here, y’know?”

[Hida Daichi]

"Anyone that would be surprised to see my ugly mug here would be someone who doesn't know me well at all!"

As Shouji answered her question Daichi nodded "Hai the captain here is a good drinking buddy!" He grinned to Shouji "and if a river of sake existed it would run dry within a week if I ever found it!" He let out a loud laugh

[Moshi Meiko]

Yue narrowed her eyes on the Moshi, suddenly wondering several things about her and one of them was taking her seriously.

"...maybe Moshi-sama is onto something but I'm entirely sure myself as it's my first time in the Crab lands and in a Crab wedding. Initially, I thought there was just going to be drinking all week but I'm glad there isn't, even if the temptation is there now if this is going to be a thing."

"I had lots of alcohol last night, it was great! I can see why everyone drinks so much now."
Shaking her head vigorously
"But I don't think that will help us solve this mystery! I think we need to look into the ghosts!"

“I mean, this is the first I’ve experienced somethin’ like this.” Sen shrugged. “So it ain’t somethin’ that happens a lot here, y’know?”

"Which is good! It just means we need to find what has changed. Captain-sama said he met with the ghost of a Crab general on the boat who died fighting a Crane general here. And the Crane general was the bride's ancestor! That has to be the problem right there....we just need to work out how."
Meiko rubs her chin, clearly thinking very hard.

[Yue]

Yue narrowed her eyes at the mention of ghosts, that got her concern again, "Supposedly, there are ghosts on the beach but there are also ghosts in town. You might on to something, Moshi-sama. So what do you propose we do? End the engagement, somehow?"

[Moshi Meiko]

"Oh no, what if that just makes the ghost angrier? We need to...talk to them and ask them what is making them upset!"
Meiko fist pumps at her brilliant scheme
"I'm sure if we just approach them respectfully and work out what's wrong we can convince them to stop cursing everyone."

[Yue]

"Okay..." she said with a slow nod, trying to keep an open mind about the matter, rocking slightly on the clam that they were sitting on, "and how do you propose making this ghost show up exactly?"
