A Evening Gathering (Day 3 Mid Evening)

[Kitsuki Naida]

A wave? Ah, right; Mantis. Still, the girl appeared to be a Moshi, and weren't they...

Best to not overthink things and introduce oneself.

"Ah, good evening Moshi-san. Hiruma-san. How are the drinks, if I may ask? This one is Kitsuki Naida."

She didn't bother being more formal than that. This WAS a party, after all.

[Moshi Meiko]

Meiko looks Naida up and down, as if expecting the dragon to be dual wielding swords at any moment.

“Are you enjoying the party? We were just talking about the entertainment to come. Hopefully music and dancing!”

Sen gave the Dragon an awkward bow, trying not to spill any of her drink that Meiko had so graciously poured for her. “Kitsuki-san, the drinks are hard but refreshing. Good for the nerves.”

[Kitsuki Naida]

“Wonderful to meet you Kitsuki-san! I’m Meiko of the Moshi and this is Sen of the Hiruma. Our drinks are very strong and taste like alcohol.”
Meiko looks Naida up and down, as if expecting the dragon to be dual wielding swords at any moment.

“Are you enjoying the party? We were just talking about the entertainment to come. Hopefully music and dancing!"

"Honestly, I think I could use something hard. And some music. It's been a very odd day today."

A wry smile she took a sip of the fruity, earthy shochu she'd procured; She didn't want to overdo things, truth told, but this really did hit the spot.

"Were we supposed to have music then?"

“Oh yes! We’ve procured a very talented musician. She’ll be starting just momentarily. I know it will be fantastic.”
Meiko beams at Sen and then Naida before... it begins
“Can I ask why your day was so strange? Did you travel here all the way from the dragon lands? What are they like? How does everyone fish so high up? How tall are the tallest mountains? Can your monks really leap as high as a tall building?”

She noticed something slightly off with the illusion, and knowing that Meiko wouldn't pull such stunts... she figured it was more likely to do with the apparition she saw earlier.

Guess we'll be packing up soon if the weird shit continues.

"Moshi Minari, navigator aboard the Sea Fox. Those who like a good party and a good drink is a good friend," Minari offered in return, pouring him a cup of shochu.

"You a local boy or visiting for the wedding?"

He nodded with thanks and a smile "Hida Daichi, I guess you could say a little column A a little column B. I grew up around here but haven't been by in about six or so years. Back in town to watch my brother trade in kimonos." He said with a chuckle

"One, I think I'm being haunted. Two, I did, though over a couple of years time with many stop along the way. Three, Dragon lands are cold but beautiful. Four, there's not much fishing when you get that high up, but there are mountain streams that have very tasty trout and carp lower down. Five, the tallest one I've seen reaches higher than the masts of the tallest ships. And six... I don't know. I've seen the Togashi do some extraordinary things, but I've never seen one try to jump over a building."

She picked back up her cup with a relieved sigh.

"...wasn't sure that was going to work."

For a moment Meiko looks downcast, no way she could do that cup trick. But she brightens immeasurably when the Dragon actually answers all her questions!

“That’s incredible! Thank you Kitsuki-san! I hope your haunting isn’t too bad! I’ve never been to the dragon lands but I will go one day and I’ll see if anyone there can jump over a building!”

meiko starts to vibrate happily as she is wont to do when content.

Sen somehow was able to avert her gaze from the impressive feat that the Dragon was able to pull off. She just stared at Meiko instead.

“Haunted, huh? Sounds rough.”

"Three ghosts in three days. Like something out of a story. I know I'm sensitive to such things, and I can even visit other spirit realms if I really try... but usually it doesn't work the other way like this."

She takes a drink.

"And I must warn you Moshi-san, the Togashi let few into their mountains, and the paths are treacherous. I wouldn't want someone so cute to get lost, neh?"

Fortunately Meiko gets distracted by the second part. Blushing furiously and almost trying to hide behind Sen.

“I’m small but I’m tough too! I can walk all day if I have to... even up hill... I’ve never climbed a mountain before.”

“I’m a great pathfinder, Moshi-san! I could help you.” Sen blurted out all of the sudden, her eyes still glued on Meiko.

Naida smiled softly, "Mmm... well, I think the Togashi would respect such toughness and keen eyes. And there ARE some wonderfully valleys in the mountains up there. I might even be able to recommend a few."

“Mountains and valleys, huh? I mean, that sounds pretty nice.” Sen could only imagine how many cool things she could hunt in a Dragon valley.

[Moshi Meiko]

Naida smiled softly, "Mmm... well, I think the Togashi would respect such toughness and keen eyes. And there ARE some wonderfully valleys in the mountains up there. I might even be able to recommend a few."

"Oh there are?? That makes sense, there would have to be some great valleys if there were great mountains. I only known the one valley, mine. But it's nice and homely and I'm very fond of it."
Meiko beams happily, the Valley of the Centipede was still home....boring home

"It does! You should show me if you know of any nearby, Hiruma-san? Although captain-sama wouldn't like me going too far from the boat."

“Awwww... Then we should find someplace nearby to hang out.” The Hiruma smiled, taking a drink from her cup.

"Are there mountains nearby then? I had always heard the Twilight Mountains were dangerous, but I do kind of miss the mountains at the moment. I could make a day trip of it if they're not too far."

"Oh...umm. Well, your house is nice? It's not a mountain but it might be cold and dark on a mountain tonight."
Meiko takes a big swig from her cup and coughs, her eyes watering.

"Are there mountains nearby then? I had always heard the Twilight Mountains were dangerous, but I do kind of miss the mountains at the moment. I could make a day trip of it if they're not too far."

"Huh...I don't know! Hiruma-san?"

“My house, huh? It’s kind of small. You’ve been there.” Sen looked into her drink, wondering by if it was responsible for her swirling thoughts.

“As far as the Twilight Mountains... Very very dangerous.”

"Oh, I see. Well, congratulations I guess on your brother's upcoming marriage. Here's to hopin' it goes well." She raised a cup to that.

"I haven't seen many Crab homes, but Hiruma-san's one is really cute."

With a number of people around a number of the Crew of the Sea Fox made their way to the stage. None of them were excellent musicians, mostly used to to preforming for fun or in their spare time. They would give the crowd a taste of Mantis music though, and serve as back up for some of the singers that were expected this evening.

"I haven't seen many Crab homes, but Hiruma-san's one is really cute."

"I mean, I'm all for adventure. But perhaps it would be wise to leave 'very very dangerous' adventure off my plans. Now seeing a 'cute' Crab home? THAT would be quite the story to tell."

She glances at Sen with a soft smirk.

I probably ought to involve myself more, she thinks, her fan in hand and idly tapping her left shoulder. But when the musicians begin to take the stage, she smiles.

This, I can work with. I'll let them start to play, she ponders, and then I'll start to dance. But what should I evoke in them?
