[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

Hanatsuko decided to come to the beach after the feast. She had been told that spirits inhabit the beach at night and as a spirit hunter she had to investigate. Kuma was not very happy that they were doing this alone. Perhaps someone would be foolish enough to follow her.

[Hida Tatuma]

Tatuma was doing a controlling of the area when he saw a woman on the beach. He walks over to the woman. "This is not a good place to be this night at night..."

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

The Toritaka nodded. "I know Hida sama. I heard something about the beach at night and as a spirit hunter I needed to investigate." Hanatsuko bowed.

[Dapper Dog]

Thus far the night is calm, the seas are dark and the waves constant. But it was cold and the temperature was dropping quickly.

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

The Toritaka called her dog and her falcon. She analyzed the situation. "Hida sama this cold is odd. I think we should get some kindling."

[Dapper Dog]

Her keen senses that something is nearby, something is watching them.

The air gets colder.

The waves crash.

The sound of laughter.

Child like.

Then more waves.

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

The Toritaka frowned. She tried to follow the laughter. "A spirit is near. Heads up." She gave the falcon a command. The dog was kept close.

[Hida Tatuma]

"Alright, I will go with for then. It would do if I leave you to yourself and you disappear." He moves forward to her.

[Dapper Dog]

The waves at the beach crash against the dark, slick sands and it looks like something is washing up like wood planks or sticks but hard to tell in the darkness of night. But the quantity continues to grow until the beach line where the water meets the sand is littered with objects some small no bigger than a house cat, while others are much larger lumps…

The moonlight glints off what could be metal in some cases or something lacquered.

She looked at the Hida and nodded. She moved to the wash up debris. "Do you have some light, Hida sama?" She looked at her falcon and gave it a whistle to keep eyes sharp.

Now that she is closer, she sees severed human limbs and corpses of soldiers and the water is stained with dark blood in the moonlight. A severed hand floats up on the remnants of a foamy wave and taps her foot.

And more seem to be coming from the sea.

The Toritaka was taken aback by the scene. Seemed like a boat was attacked by something. Not at all what she had expected. "Hida sama, we have a situation here." She whistled to her falcon to return. The bird perched on her arm. "We need to find out what happened, Kuma kun."

[Dapper Dog]

Then she hears something splashing in the water in the darkness further from shore and a faint childish cry of, "Help..."

The limbs and corpses continue to litter the beach.

"I have a lantern, but I think it will have to wait." He responds to her.

The splashing continues in the deeper waters as more body parts arrive on the shore.

Now more frantic.

But there is also child-like laughter coming from where they had made camp.

Hanatsuko blinked a few times, shook her head and headed out to their camp. "This is weirder than normal... the child is in the camp." She moved her arm to message Kuma to take flight. Sari kept close to Hanatsuko quite a bit trembly. "Come on, Sari, we need to move" She gave a whistle for the falcon to round the camp.

[Dapper Dog]

As she makes her way back to camp she can hear distant shouts and the sound of metal on flesh... footsteps and the din of war.

The closer she gets the more deafening it becomes until she cannot hear anything but the sounds of people dying in battle.

[Hida Tatuma]

Tatuma walks cautiously with Hanatuko looks around at the camp. "Keep on guard."

[Dapper Dog]

OOC: Neither can hear the other in the din of sounds and screams.

The battle in her ears was intense. She kept her hand on her katana. "Seems that the battle of the spirits is intense." Bujeihime seemed like she was right... an intense battle that few could survive.

Then there is silence.

Not even creatures of the night could be heard.

Absolute silence.

[Toritaka Hanatsuko]

The silence was equally deafening. "Is it over?" She shook her head. "Fortunes! What in Jigoku?" Her training kept getting her into weird situations.

[Hida Tatuma]

With his tetsoku readied, he no longer sees the camp. "It looks like it right now, but stay at the ready."

[Dapper Dog]

A sound starts low and begins to build as if right behind their ears.

They feel it coming from the sea.
