[Day 1 - Late Afternoon] G-G-Ghosts?

[Yue]

Yue pursed her lip with a faint frown. It did feel rather uneasy and awkward when she was apologized to, especially when he was the Scorpion and she was the ronin. She slouched her shoulders at first before raising to her feet and giving the Scorpion a bow.

She gave a shake of her head. "No offence, taken, Bayushi-sama... I'm not local here and this beach is not mine. I was just looking around to explore and finding a place to rest. This one is known as Yue."

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"I see we are both travelers in this place", observed the Scorpion. "has it captured your eye or are you merely seeing yet another small town on your journey?"

[Yue]

"I haven't been able to see all that much of the town yet, really. I merely followed the crowd of people from the last town I was in and that did the rest. It seems a bit surprising that I was able to get this far," she gave a shrug as she thought the Crab border would be harder, given their reputation for defensiveness and all.

"But, I am here for work first and foremost," she nodded.

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"I see, and what manner of service does Yue-san provide?" He asked. Not as if he couldn't guess by her kit.

[Yue]

"Like most ronin, I can provide security if you need an armed bushi around but I know little of iaijutsu," she admitted. Most ronin could have faked it and got by if their charge avoided conflict. However, staying alive and out of trouble was a bigger priority than coin to her at the moment.

"Most of my coin is earned in hunting and scouting, however. I'm decent with a bow and can do well in those things. My clients can make up any story they wish from my efforts."

[Bayushi Shitoru]

The Scorpion's hat tilted at her words. "A tracker of some skill? I imagine a hunt will be on during our stay. Would Yue-san seek to show her talents to the Crab should the opportunity arise?"

[Yue]

"Some skill," she repeated with some humility, presenting herself as someone with that skill as opposed to some untapped prodigy.

"Do Crab hunt?" she asked earnestly. This was her first time here and it almost seemed like a brand-new world when it came to local customs. "But if so, I'd be more than willing to give it a try if they would have me. Does Bayushi-sama hunt?"

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"I am not much the woodsman, nor the tracker", Shitoru admitted. "My talents were focused on civilized matters. I chose this to support those who have a rougher life, as moments of respite can bring the weary back to true form."

[Yue]

"I didn't wish to imply Bayushi-sama was versed in non-civilized matters...I just wondered whether he partook in hunting as a sport or leisure," she said with a bow, "I can only imagine that you've and the Scorpion been invited this far south for a good reason. I fully understand if my expertise isn't for everyone."

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"No offense taken and even still, all that is meant was to say hunting is not this one's expertise", he answered. "Not by a notion of distaste, but for lack of practice. This Scorpion spends time honing the blade, if not conversing with others and learning of their ways. Hunting is equal to any warrior pursuit."

[Yue]

"Oh, of course, of course," she nodded slowly in acceptance and glanced to the direction the other ronin departed to earlier, "I believe the other ronin had a strict regiment involving the sword. He might have made for a good sparring partner or at least someone you could discuss some philosophy. I'm not very skilled with the blade, at least not enough I could consider my practice art."

She frowned for a moment before looking to the Scorpion. "...Do you suppose there's going to be a court here then?"

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"I imagine so, perhaps for gift giving or to hear announcements by the lady of the castle", Shitoru surmised. "Though if it's work you seek even the court of a Crab may not hold good fortune. There are many other guests from beyond their clan."

[Yue]

"Yes, I did follow a large party of Crane samurai who were making their way here. Sometimes samurai travelling abroad are well staffed, however. I don't know if any court is the right place to be selling my services but seeing as I'm already conservative as is, I really have to broaden my venues to compensate for it," she sighed.

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"Then, perhaps this one will keep Yue-san on their mind in the coming days, and will pass along an opportunity if one hears it", the Scorpion said. "Where do you plan to stay? At the inn? There is talk that the owner finds labor in exchange for a bed acceptable."

[Yue]

"Bayushi-sama is probably busy as is with his assignment here and you're under no obligation to aid this one, which probably doesn't need to be said..." she said with a humble bow given to him.

"...I haven't had the chance to see much of the village yet, unfortunately. I was just scoping the farmlands for potential small work. If there was a rodent or rabbit infestation, that might keep me around for a few days. Hopefully there's an inn with a few chores. The other ronin mentioned it. That should have been my first trip, probably."

[Bayushi Shitoru]

"Then I bid you good fortune", he said. "Unless there is ought else? Or perhaps you'd like to join this one in a bit of training?"

[Yue]

Yue figured if she's running to get a spot at the inn before the other ronin would take the last offer, she might be already too late.

"I could if Bayushi-sama is offering..." she said before awkwardly looking around at the beach and lightening her load. "What can this one do to help?"
