[Hida Daichi]

Disappearing during the dinner for some reason, he returns to the room and checks its vibes, scanning it for anything that draws his attention. The talk between Yuuwaku and Saisei was one of such things. Whilst normally he would approach, he sees the expression on the young Otomo's face and has to draw his fan to hide his smile, looking elsewhere.

He turns his attention them to the ruling family here. He found a large Hida there. To the closeness he had, either a minor brother of the groom or a close retainer. Someone worthy of his attention, nevertheless. Sanaharu approaches Daichi with a low bow. "Oh, Hida-sama! Have you eaten your portion of rice today?"

Daich let out a deep chuckle "Itd take quite a portion of rice to fill me Asahina-san!" He let out a loud laugh at the Crane "but I suppose I'm sated enough for the time being."

He gave a seated bow "this one is Hida Daichi, brother of the groom. Which is the only reason I've been permitted to this dinner in the first place." He said with a wide grin.

"A bucket of rice is a portion still. Who defines how large or small a portion needs to be?" He smiled back. "It is always good to see that the Crane's rice was given fair use." He gave a not, still with the playful smile on his face. This one was easy to reach and liked jokes. He liked when people were easy to reach.

Tanaka likewise studied the Yoritomo, "These things happen unfortunately," The Dragon was calm, "It is my fault for not studying the customs more before giving the gift."

"Kitsuki Tanaka of Dragon. Two of four." She folds her hands into her kimono. "Though Mantis-sama's own kin are two boats full no? And maybe some besides."

"Lots of rules," she said, glancing at the Crane present.

"Yoritomo Koemi, rigger of one of said boats. I can't say I know of anyone who didn't come along with one of those." She shrugged. "I only know those about The Sea Fox."

Kakita Masao attends dinner in the best clothes he has with him, though his hair style is probably controversial with his clanmates. He's ready to perform his portion of the dinner's ceremony and does so with [results in event thread].

His duty done, he circulates among the crowd as they all await the actual start of dinner. His eye is caught by a stunningly dressed samurai-ko...

Following not far behind her captain was a... completely unknown Moshi.

Moshi Minari was elegantly dressed in a hanfu the color of sea-grass and stormy skies, her tanned face was powdered and pale, with red painted lips, red and black eyemakeup, and with delicate pink-tinted cheeks. Meiko had been hard at work in creating this masterpiece.

She moved slowly, mostly because she had no idea how to move otherwise in this pretty confection of silk, and because Meiko had drilled it into her that a proper lady didn't take long hasty strides.

The black hair had been combed, oiled and done up in a cute updo secured with pretty hairpins and combs.

Who Masao approaches respectfully, making sure to be seen before he introduces himself: "Mantis-sama," he says with an artful bow. "This one is Kakita Masao, nikutai of the famed Iron Warriors and son of Kakita Haruka, lord of Samui Kaze Toshi. The radiance of your attire drew my attention from across the courtyard, though I hope you'll forgive me being so forward as to say so." A small bow of his head to reinforce his sincerity.

"Yup, it's his ship," she said, deciding against taking the liberty to talk about him. What he wanted her to know was his business. "As for my position, I attend to the rigging of the ship. Rigging is all the stuff, like rope, that keeps the ship together and allows us to adjust the sails and such."

"Perhaps that could be the thing I help you with, then," Yuuwaku offers. "Sometimes, it only needs a little encouragement, and I'd be happy to accommodate."

The fan slides closed, gently. "But you said you'd sailed here."

Which for now has mostly consisted at patiently explaining that the local religious practices are compatible with bushido and the Tao and actually not much weirder than most other religious traditions through the Empire."

"Uh, ah, what a... fabulous delight, Kakita-sama. This humble little samurai is Moshi Minari, navigator on the Sea Fox. I do believe my silly little memory that I recall seeing your uh... luminous... self onboard the ship during the voyage here."

She laughed what she thought was a polite laugh but it was a nervous one as she realised what she had been saying.

The young Otomo bows back, and resumes his steps to check on the other guests before returning to Yusuke.

"Moshi Minari-san," he says, clearly surprised. "Please forgive me for not recognizing you." He bows his head just briefly, but long enough to process the situation. "Clearly your fine memory is sharper than my own." He smiles, though it's hard to tell whether he's simply admiring the spectacle or sensing some underlying mischief.

"This is... a far cry from sailing attire, as you're no doubt aware, but clearly proof that the Moshi are as wonderous as Lady Sun when we are honored with their presence." His eyes and smile seem more genuine now, less forced. Perhaps a lack of courtier training that he can't maintain the facade longer.

"I feel It is most unfortunate that we didn't have occasion to speak aboard the ship. Now when I wish to speak with you, I shall be waiting in line with many attentive samurai," Masao says, disheartened. His on seems mostly gone, in fact, as he looks at Minari a bit like a ship sailing out beyond his reach.
